Okay guys....this is real world and really happening at this very moment.

My Neighbor George is a retired 26 year Army Veteran who has two purple hearts from Vietnam. He's 74 years old and has heart problems. The other day his cardiologist "scoped" his heart to look at a blockage and discovered that the blockage is in a spot that he is unable to install a stint in...due to it's proximity. So the next option is to put in a pacemaker. Well he was all set to have it put in today...the doctor came into his room last night and told George that Medicare will not pay for the pacemaker he needs....the cost is about $60,000 for the device.

The family and I are devastated as the Gov't just handed George a death sentence. When Sarah Palin and others were talking about "Death Panels" a few years ago, they weren't kidding. The government is sitting back in an office, diagnosing the patients instead of the actual patients doctor himself. George is coming home tomorrow with a handful of different meds in hopes that his heart will grow stronger. We all know that it's just a matter of time now before George dies.....

This is the future of ALL healthcare in America...

Im not saying that OBAMACARE and his goon squad havent already sent healthcare as we know it into a tailspin BUT......

I suggest George seek a second opinion... Living with a family that has major Coronary Artery Disease issues I know that just about ANY repair you can imagine is possible... Maybe with a different doc or different hospital...

Also a pacemaker wouldn't cure or mask the issues related to a blockage... I don't think...

Dig deeper and ask George more questions, maybe he is not telling the WHOLE story...???

Thank George for his long service please... :))THumbsUp

George is using one of the best cardiac surgeons in the DFW area.....

George's heart is weak...only 23% efficient?? Not sure what that means....

If there is muscle damage and the heart can't beat properly from the damage that may be the reason for the pacemaker. I think that would be a separate issue from the blockage.

It really is amazing, it would blow your mind to know how some of the procedures can be done these days...

EXAMPLE: my mom had kidney issues due to a blockage that feeds blood to her kidneys (this is after a five way bypass about 10 years ago)... THe doctors went into her ARM, up to her shoulder, down to her heart, through her heart and down to the blockage between her heart/kidney. Opened up the blockage and put in the stent... All of this was done in a matter of 45 minutes or so and nearly was outpatient... She was held overnight and released the next day after observation...

ALL through her arm, rather than her groin artery...

Typical inaccurate response from someone that know only what a book or MSNBC tells him. No real world. My father was a DAV and got booted once he went onto medicare. Luckily he also had supplemental insurance. You fools don't realize that supplemental will be the new insurance. So you idiots will not only increase the costs or regular insurance, but will now require a supplemental to pay for.

Thank you shue. You just showed how you could be so fucking blind, so fucking ignorant, that it is no wonder you would vote for the biggest anti American socialistic POTUS in the country's history. You are in good company though. There is no shortage of morons just like you. Right CVX, R&J?

Painfully obvious nobody in your family served in your savior LBJ's fiasco. The father of your blessed welfare system, and nobody in your family helped the asshat to preserve his socialist agenda? Right CVX?

And you dipshits claim to be INFORMED voters. You're no different than all the other uneducated welfare leeches.

The point is this, all of the government HC plans (im sure the congressional plan and the POTUS's plan is an exception here) as well as PRIVATE plans are tightening up in anticipation of the OLAMEOcare that is coming down the pike at us...

I have seen it with my parents and their medicare (with their AT&T retirement suplement), my elderly relatives, my brother that passed away last September (navy vet), my inlaws with Kaiser, ANDDDDDD worst of all, in my OWN premium PRIVATELY purchased HC that comes right out of MY pocket...

THe insurance companies, and gubment HC plans are tightening up BIGTIME, don't believe me just look no further than the OP... THAT situation is a perfect example...

Simple tests that you would thing would be ROUTINE when you go in for an issue are no longer ROUTINE... My G.P. refuses stuff now that 10 years ago was done as a formality... I see this every time I go somewhere and ask a few questions of my G.P. or the N.P. or the nurse...

Costs are going UP UP UP UP and services are going DOWN DOWN DOWN DOWN...

WHY??? Bcuz the LAME one made it his holy grail to FUCK with HC... Bottom line...

Sorry sir... hang in there... :(
Thanks man.....

I'm 47, retired from the US Navy in 2005...I was promised healthcare for the rest of my life if I gave the Navy 20 years....I did and now...in a few years, I'll be diagnosed by someone other than my doctor as to what I need and don't need.

This isn't the America I fought for nor is it the deal I made.....

I'm really sorry to hear this. George will definitely be in our thoughts.

This administration just pisses all over those that have put their lives on the line for this country and exalts those that have never done anything but think they know it all because they took a few classes in college.

Tricare is not VA. The VA allows for both VA benefits and Medicare as they are not joined or linked.

Your father was booted from VA treatment? What priority was he awarded prior to being booted? If he was a 7 or 8 they might have told him he would have better luck getting authorization for treatments from medicare. But if the treatment is authorized by the VA, the VA pays for it not medicare. Medicare may pick up most of the cost shares.

Every time I go to the VA there are scores of people there getting treatment who are past 74. VA hospitals are not funded by medicare funds. VA treatment funding is appropriated by congress every year.

Does congress, including Piglosi and Reid make the decision who does and does not get treatment? WHO? makes that decision, and by what guidelines? Who sets these guidelines. Piglosi and Reid?

What does the VA do when they are running out of the funds determined by Piglosi and Reid? Does the Federal Reserve print them some more?

Are you saying the VA can't deny treatment or send off a vet to medicare to save their own funds?

Just asking.

Google is ur friend...

As a result of the new law (2009), Congress is now required to approve funding for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) medical care programs one year in advance of the next fiscal year. VA’s annual budget requests must provide two-year budget estimates for veterans health care programs, to include specific explanations and rationales for these estimates. To further ensure that VA is provided sufficient health care funding, the law also requires the Government Accountability Office (GAO) to examine and report on these budget requests and compare them to VA’s internal actuarial model estimates in order to identify if any funding was cut below the model’s projections or if budget gimmicks were used to reduce the request.

You believe you answered the question with that??
I believe your political views are "irrational" How do feel about that.
The IRS thought conservative pro constitutional political views were "irrational" What do have to say about that?
