And this is new how? When is the last time you took a complete physical? The same questions are asked as risk indicators and have been being asked for some time now.

Of course I'm still waiting for the VA to ask about my weapons. Just because someone tells someone to do something doesn't mean it will happen any time soon.

The difference is the REQUIRED web based e-record.
Have you looked into that yet?

I have. BTW, this is a 3rd party deal. The actual e-record system will be handled by private on line medical record industry that meet the requirements.
They aren't free, and it isn't a Gov database.
They have always been available, like on line data back up services.
But now they are mandatory, or soon will be by law.

The ones I have looked into have an annual fee, plus $25 PER FILE FEE from all your doctors or providers.

What does your medical record look like?
how much do you think it would cost you to have your files uploaded to an online record service?
Bear in mind that is ONLY the fee for the service, you doctor ALSO has an office fee for doing that.

What you tell your doctor is confidential, supposedly.
No Doctor I know of is inclined to release any record without express written release by you.

How does it make you feel to know that you will be in violation of the new Ocare laws if you do not paste your entire records to the Internet? Furthermore, you have no say so because your OWN DOCTOR will be required to do it to avoid being a criminal.
This is straight up big brother on steroids, it has nothing to do with the specific questions your doctor needs to ask you as a patient, and everything to do with building data on you by the government using doctors as agents.
This is like evil genius shit.

You know, we always tell our kids and friends to NEVER post pictures or personal info on line.
Many people on these very sites would never dream of even putting a pic or their full names on this site.

Yet you have no problem being forced into providing this sort of extremely private info to a for profit online record outfit accessible by virtually any gov entity or even a hacker?

Is that what you are saying?

This is new because it's being recorded and housed in a database held by our government. If you want the government to know everything about you, go ahead. As for me, I see this as a detriment to some that will now withhold information from their doctor as they don't want the government to know.
In the past, you told your doctor and it was kept with him. The government never knew anything about your health or habits. Just you and your doctor.
There is a far reaching reason for this. Once O's agenda goes through, this information will be used against you!!!

Doctor patient confidentiality is only as good as the file server the doctor uses to store the info (you don't see huge filing cabinets in the doctor's office anymore do you?), the insurance company that you use and the doctor files the required information to get paid through, and your honesty with the doctor. Is it illegal to lie to the doctor? Does Ocare make withholding info from your doctor or having mislead him in the past illegal? If not any hearsay previous statements about sexual preference or anything else is just a waste of time to up load. It's what you tell them in the future or what they have medical evidence of that can be used. Of course your insurance company (a private company at that) already has this info. After all, they paid for it.

Most of the info they are requiring has already been previously given. But, you've never been compelled to tell the doctor the truth about your sex life. So if you want to start now, go for it.

Are you purposely avoiding the root problem with this?
You asked what was any different about it as compared to current status quo, and had 2 replies answering that question.

Right now, the people that have my records via the Internet have NO responsibility to provide my records to anyone, INCLUDING this wonderful administration.
Quite the opposite in fact. Can the Doctors server files be hacked? Yes.
Can my insurance files be hacked? Yes.

Am I OK with the Gov keeping, accessing at will, and logging my records? NO!!

It all comes full circle in this Ocare debacle.
Why hack anything? Just create a socialized care program, have 100% access to every citizens private info to use however you wish, and create a network of agents via the ONE person that knows more than anybody about your private live....your doctor.

Control their health, habits, and treatments to bring an "unwieldily" population under full control.
You don't have to be a conspiracy theorist to read the writing on the wall here.
The fact that they had gun ownership in there clearly demonstrates almost no effort to even disguise the agenda.

You seem to keep overlooking the fact that it is the Gov that will now have your records and the Gov that will be looking at them. Everyone knows that the Ins companies have some of your records. Not all the details. And they are bound by law not to disclose them to anyone without your permission. The Gov will use these records against you. Sure you can withhold info from your doctor to keep the Gov from getting that info. But is that agood thing to keep info from your doctor if you have a problem and really want to get better ? Say you have used drugs in the past . Think the Gov might notify another branch about you ? The list goes on.The gov has no business knowing anything about your private medical history. Big Brotheris coming and you continue to defend him .Plain and simple. If you argue otherwise I'd say you should hang out with more Big Gov loving libbies as you will be one of them.

Wow, I can't believe that a trained intel officer (yeah right) is fine with giving every aspect of his life to the government.
My doctor has never asked me anything about my sex life. Unless I'm having problems (you probably do) in that arena, I see no reason to include her. Now the government wants to know everything about your sexual habits and you feel comfortable that they know about everyone.
One step closer to government control and you're fine with it.

And the point you are missing is that the info is out there, so the gov't has it already. Legalities hasn't stopped this administration from taking or doing anything they wanted to do. So the only thing Zerocare does is Legalize what they already have done.

My point was if you answered the questions when your doc asked them for risk assessment, he recorded it. If he recorded it, they have it and this pending development is not giving the gov't anything new. If you didn't tell your doc then, why would you tell him now? And if you lie(d) to him, there is no law against it now nor was there then, so who cares. Protect your own privacy because the gov't has no intention of letting you have any.

The new law makes what ever you want to disclose available to them without them having to just take it. It doesn't change what they have access to. Just the channel they get it through.

He seems to do that a lot.
I guess he feels like we might as well save them the trouble and just hand over every thing.
This Ocare law is as insidious as can be imagined.
Medical care has not one thing to do with its implementation.
The control it provides the Gov over the population is almost hard to comprehend in its far reaching entirety.

And you obviously missed where I answered his question. The questions have been out there for a long time asked by doctors, insurance companies, and sometimes even employers under the guise of providing proper medical coverage for the workers. If you chose to answer them, your doctor, ins. co, or employer recorded them. If they recorded the answers, gov't already has access to them. This bill just makes it easier for them. Remember when your phone records were protected without a court order? Or when the internet sites you visited were only your business? Medical data is no different.

While I have absolutely nothing whatsoever to hide, being a monogamous one-wife-only lover of 44 years, I wonder what the penalty will be for not answering? I would refuse to even acknowledge such an intrusion with any answer.

This would say that you are conservative and most likely religious, putting you in a specfic intrest cohort. Not answering could mean something like you are a devout conservative agitator who believes to strongly in the constitution.

And the penalty will most assuredly have a $ amount attached to it.
