I have not been on here in a while.. Starting to get back into Jet Boating. Here is my issue. Boat sat for a bout a year. pulled off Carb did a rebuild. new plugs, new wires. new cap, Runs fine on Garden hose.

Took it out to Saguaro this am. idled around while the truck and trailer were parked. no issue temp went up to about 180. 190 at idle after about 15 minutes.. picked up passenger and went for a test cruise. made about 1 and a half runs around the main lake. then the temp started to rise.

got it trailered and home.

took off all the water lines. blew air through no obstructions.

Running 460 Ford Thru Transom Logs. 12jg pump. I went through the hose routing pic 5 times. everything seems to be right but under load it seems like the motor is not getting enough water. The gate valve is open all the way.

What am I missing?

Thermostat issues? Some times they do go bad. I think Jim at performance jet has a be all end to thosse kinds of issues, and a pressure reducer. People have referenced him to me about how to set up mine. I have been told to pull it out, and run with out it, but mine didnt like to run that way. Check there, and maybe that is the issue!! I am sure others will have better ideas of whats going, but its a place to start. Good luck.:)hand

I took off the T-stat housing to replace the T-stat. There is a splitter in the housing that would not allow a T-Stat to be installed. I could grind that out but decided against it. We thought that adding a T-stat would force the water to stay in the motor longer to take more heat out once the stat opened.

I used the Pic from here.

From the jet through the gate valve. to the T.. from the T to the inside of the logs. then from the outside of the logs to the "Water Pump" plate. then from the T-stat housing to the Snails.

From your description of your devider T ("T'stat hsg) , you should not have (or require) a thermosat pellet at all ,if your engine is plumbed per that diagram and there are no obstructions in the hoses or other impedements in the cooling and your temp guage is correct then your jet itself may be suspect (internal waer etc) , the jet drive is (provides the water to cool your engine (except Old Berk Packajet) call or post up more info if you need help Tom
