Anyone ever try the p90x system? I started it today. I have always been in to strength training but this thing is brutal, either that or I am old and weak! :D
Anyone ever go through a 90 day cycle with it and live? :|err

Yep. Finished at the end of Arpil and am in the best shape of my life, no joke. Shed 25lb of fat and look like a completely different person. i love it. Now when I go to the gym I take my p90x workout sheets and just do it there....much better workout I find than when I try to just wing it

Its good to know people can get through it! Day one is down. Right after I finished I wanted to hit the floor, but now a half hour later I am jacked up!:D

The first week was the hardest and I was so sore i could barely get out of bed. I just kept telling myself to suck it up and quitting was not an option. After seeing your 30 day results you will be excited to continue. Good luck!

IS it a video you watch and follow the work outs? Do you need any equipment?

Yeah, there are 12 (i think) dvd's you cycle through and follow along with. The guy is a self absorbed ego maniac, but other than that it seems like a solid workout.

Sounds like it works good then. I have always lifted weights and done cardio separately, this system seems to mix it up. Plus you dont get the rest waiting around for a bench or a machine to open up between reps. I think it is going to be good! Brutal, but good!

Not sure, I borrowed a friends set. I see the infomercial all the time though. I would bet you could pick up a set on the cheep off of craigs list or ebay though.

I too have completed one round of the P90X. It's awesome. Just started round two after two months off and it feels good to be back in the groove. It's tough as hell, but you feel invincible after some of those tough workouts.

I don't want to get to personal, but what were the changes after round one? you can pm me if you don't want to throw it out there. Just curious about weight loss, muscle gain ect. Thanks , now I feel like a wus, a girl can kick my ass at p90x:D

How long are the work outs (avg)? how many days a week?
They are an hour each. I think you are supposed to do 6 a week? I am sure someone will be along to correct me about how many a week if i am wrong.

I have been asking for it and my wife gave it to me for father's day. I'm going to start it on Monday when i returned back from the river.
I have a question? have anyone change their eating habits like the book ask you to do? I'm on a diet already no junk food, eating 5 times a day in portions.

Has anyone who bought it got a true price?

Does it involve the dreaded "impact"?

I got clearance from my ortho guy yesterday to do "mild" exercise. I've been off the gym for over 6 months due to my hip, and my shoulders I worked so hard on found themselves around my waist:mad:
I'd like to get into a program to restart but without impact, or 500 pound leg presses, since my hip can't take either.

I originally got it because our house is not close to a decent gym. I did a lot of research online about the program before I bought it and really found nothing but good things about it. In a three month period, I was amazed to see the changes I achieved compared to my results from several consistant years in the gym. To be honest, I did not follow the eating plan as I am already a clean, very healthy eater. I also was not looking to lose a bunch of weight, so the eating plan was less important to me. The changes feel significant to me. I am much more toned now than I have ever been in my entire life. I have always been athletic and active, but I have never had muscle tone like this before and I am really pleased with it. Specifically, I really like the tone that I see in my arms & shoulders as well as my legs and butt:)grn. I am sure that a guy would see a lot more definition and muscle bulk. I am definitely so much stronger now and my endurance is incredible now too. I was not challenged by the Ab workout, as I have always had very strong and toned stomach muscles, so I opted to include several of the moves from that program into my regular routine. The other thing that I changed in my P90X routine was that I replaced the Yoga with Plyometrics or Kenpo because I absolutely could not stand the Yoga. A lot of people like the Yoga and think it is beneficial, but it is just too slow for me. Be sure to enough too-- After several days of not consuming enough calories for the intense workouts, I was dead, completely worn out. Learned my lesson on that one and upped my calorie intake on the heavy cardio days. My only other advice would be to select the option where the sound is muted except for the ques from Tony. I can't stand to hear that guy ramble on and some XM channel 48 gets me way more fired up to take on those workouts :)devil

I agree with a lot of what Poontoob babe said. Workouts are closer to 90 minutes/day., 6 days a week with day 7 being just stretching. I followed the diet to a T and it made a big difference. Only thing I changed was I continued the "fat shredder" phase of the diet the whole time as I wanted to burn a lot of fat. I was not in shape at all before and i look like a completely different person now. Shed 25 lb (I am 6' and was 180.5 to start, am now 155lb) and added a lot of muscle+tone. I don't want to post my before and after pics here for the world to see but anyone that is really curious, feel free to PM me and I will be happy to email them to you. It's really a great program, I've continued working out since and I now follow a slightly looser version of the diet plan. Nice thing is, once I got used to eating healthy all the time, I don't really miss the bad stuff. I'm not a nazi about it, I still drink beer from time to time, i just don't over-eat and drink like I used to. Also, Tony can be annoying but I actually found him motivating (in the beginning at least) cause I really needed someone to push me along and keep me in the game. These videos do a good job of that. I've never been a workout guy before this and now I am in the best shape of my life.
