Its been about 6 years or so since i did this same deal, and i'm pretty sure that the hole from the Panther pump is smaller then you'll need for the Berk. You just need to cut out the Panther stuff as close as you can to the pump (smallest hole possible) then get a good "Jet" guy to set your intake, then you'll just have to trim up your transom for the Berk. You will need all new pump, intake, loader, transom plates and cables. Its not near as big of a job as you might think, one long weekend can get it done.
My bro just finished his conversion this weekend(berk intake set). The panther doesnt extend as far into the boat, but I do believe the insert box for the panther is wider than the berk , which requires some glass work to the floor & transom.
Edit- Performance (all other things left alone) should be much improved with lots of upside. If you want speed, find an intake with a bolt on shoe.
Panther conversion: Id avoid it. You could source a complete pump with diverter for under a thousand bux (used)and do the glass work yourself, saving a boatload compared to the conversion.
