Well the 43bc cable on my dads jetboat broke last weekend.

I have been looking around online and all the 43bc cables I found have a description that they are a heavy duty cable for shifting and throttle, but they don`t say anything about using them for a diverter.

I went to places website and their cable is advertised as a heavyduty black cable.......the original on the boat was also black. Is there a difference in strength between the black cables and the red ones????

The difference is the redones turn pink and crack easier. I believe that is why they changed to black. That and to match my boat.

Red jacketing was actually Morse's trademark, even their steering \cables were red for a long time, not very UV stable.

Morse is now Morse/Teleflex, everyone is being bought out these days :|err

Most of the 43 series cables are very similar, the SS ones have stainless steel ends instead of cadium plated steel, looks nicer for longer:)devil
