I bought a used 24P Maximus prop to try on my Eliminator Fun Deck. First off - man it the diffuser ring/shaft long on this thing!! I have been told that this might be of benefit since my boat has a higher than normal x-dim, I guess only testing will tell.

Secondly, one of the PVS plugs is missing. I am going to call the boat shop tomorrow but my guess is that they probably won't have one, everything else I need they have to order but I might get lucky since they specialize in outboard fishing boats!

Anyway, would it hurt anything to give this a try with one plug missing. My take on the PVS plugs is that they are primarily designed for outboards. Some sterndrives with thru hub exhaust may benefit. But on my boat with thru hull exhaust, I don't think I will see any noticeable difference.

Anybody running anything besides solid PVS plugs in a Maximus 5 blade?

Going out tomorrow to do some testing.

Thanks
Stacy

Luckily enough, my local dealer had them in stock. I popped it in the prop and will head to the lake this afternoon to test out this prop.

unless you are running through hub exhaust it wont matter if the plugs are in there or not. should not make a difference. outboards they do because it uses the exhaust to aireate the water in front of the blades to cause slip so the engine revs up.
