Is there a formula for calculating the miles on a motor or boat by using how many hours are on it?

Mike
Nope...it'd be about as accurate as using static compression PSI to calculate compression ratio. Two cars can have the same amount of hours on the engine, but if car 1's hours were all "stop and go" traffic and car 2's hours were all at highway speed, you'd have two completely different mileage calculations for the same amount of engine hours.

However, for mileage tracking I use a handheld GPS...most of them have an odometer readout. But this will only tell you how many miles YOU have gone in it.
