Interested, based on the number of jobs added in September and the total unemployed (even though it's expected that it didn't include part of California to get the 7.8% number) you have the following information.

Jobs added: 114,000
Unemployed persons: 12,100,000 (decreased by 456,000 in September, lol?)

Jobs added / Unemployed persons = Percent chance of finding a job.
114,000 / 12,100,000 = 0.942%
0.942% of unemployed poeple got a job.
Or 1 out of every 106.14 people found a job.

A person was exactly 4 times more likely to give up looking for a job.

A person was approximately 6 times more likely to become underemployed than find a job.

These numbers do not count new graduates.

It's amazing what you find when you don't let the media tell you what's in the jobs report and read it yourself.

If we had an unbiased media, they would have reported the facts as you posted. Sad commentary on those that champion freedom of the press.
