Thought I'd start this thread after reading some very informative posts on cougartunnel's boat spam thread. It appears that there were only about 10 (plus one new 2009 hull still un-rigged) of the 19' tunnel v-drives ever built by Cougar. My son (littlejockocougar) and I know of the following boats;

1) Ron Munson's (infomaniac) (blown 509 on alcohol)
2) Roy Cavalieri / Steve Giacomino's (blown gas 572) (crashed and gone now)
3) My Cougar (blown gas 468, soon to be bigger!)
4) Marcel Lavoie's (tunnel ram BBC) located in Canada.
5) owner??___________Green/white (tunnel ram BBC) located in Canada.
6) owner??___________Orange (blown gas BBC) located in Canada.
7) Rasberry color (kinda pink) (blown gas 496) recently for sale in Washington
8) All white (tunnel ram BBF) was for sale in Colorado about 10 yrs ago.
9) Silver one, per Marcel Lavoie located in Canada.
10) Another one, per Marcel Lavoie located in Canada.

So if that's it, plus the new 2009 purple hull for sale on Dragboat City there would be a total of eleven ever built. The one's that I know of were all built in the 1980's. So post up any info or corrections to what we seem to know about these awesome running boats.
Here's some pic's of the # 1 boat (Info's) Other pic's to follow.

Here's pic's of Steve's Cougar that Roy Cavalieri bought new. It was originally powered by a tunnel ram (+200 shot) 522, then a very fast T/R 565, finally a blown/intercooled 572. Jocko

I would like to know if anyone has pictures and or knows where the first Cougar 19" V-drive factory race boat is. It had a 468 BBC with polished tunnel ram, two 660 Holly's and a stage 3 Ni ox system. We raced it a the FVD for a couple of years and did very well with it That one would also be a good boat to hold onto. This boat would have been built maybe late 70's?? and at that time there were few if any tunnel v-drives around especially in our part of the world Cougar Dave

I like the looks of the wing but it seems like the drag would cause bow lift.
As clean as that boat is I'm thinking she never left the trailer.

I don't think he's going to set the world on fire with that pizza size upper pulley on the blower anyways.

Dave, could you describe the hull a little better, specifically the gel-coat colors. It seems that most of these Cougars still are original gel and not painted over. Engines are rarely original.
What/where is FVD? How did that boat ET and what gear/prop did it run? Thanks, Jocko

John, I must keep my "not been wet yet" status intact and clarify that you meant.....littleJocko! lol :p JOCKO
True it was the little jocko.

Sorry for the confusion, And for what I have seen of the tunnels, I would not use the word "yet"

None of the Canadian Cougars were ever painted, even way back then they were at least 5-6 color gel and the 21 for sale on another post was 7 colors as Tom did it up a little special for us. FRD was the Fraser River boat drags and we ran on the Fraser river around Mission B.C. Our boat ran around 10 seconds (just a gas 468 with Ni Ox) but ET are so mjiss leading as were using a running start that at times became a "fast" running start if you know what I mean. I know that TOM very seldom LOST Cougar Dave
