When you let yourself get outraged by all the little shit you (we) get drowned out as a bunch of naysayers when it REALLY matters!

I hope we have enough left in the tank for to fight this, but I get the feeling with the current popularity ratings...we are about to get steamrolled and THIS is something the country will never recover from.

Pandora's box folks...right here:

WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama said Wednesday he is "hopeful" that Republican lawmakers will back the health-care overhaul he wants to sign into law by October.
In a letter to two senior Democratic senators, Mr. Obama said Democrats have reached out to Republicans on health care, countering complaints that the GOP was excluded from a White House meeting on health care Tuesday.
"I remain hopeful that many Republicans will join us in enacting this historic legislation that will lower health-care costs for families, businesses and governments, and improve the lives of millions of Americans," Mr. Obama wrote to Sen. Edward Kennedy, chairman of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, and Sen. Max Baucus, chairman of the Senate Finance Committee. (Read the full letter.)
Democrats are pushing for a vote on health-care legislation in July, but GOP lawmakers have expressed reluctance, saying the White House hasn't unveiled enough details of its plans.
In his letter, Mr. Obama reiterated support for a proposed public-health-insurance option. "I strongly believe that Americans should have the choice of a public health insurance option operating alongside private plans," he said.
The letter, dated Tuesday and released by the White House Wednesday, offered no new policy specifics. But in a move that could appeal to Republicans, Mr. Obama said he is open to giving special consideration to proposals made by the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission, or MedPAC, an independent, 17-member Congressional agency created when Republicans held control of Congress.
"Under this approach, MedPAC's recommendations on cost reductions would be adopted unless opposed by a joint resolution of the Congress," Mr. Obama said. The process could help revamp the health-care system in a fiscally responsible way, he added.

Let's save billions but policing and enforcing fraud by fining, jailing and recovering the billions lost.....and then the system can pay for the few that aren't insured and still maintain our priviae system that continues to fund and pursue the leading breakthroughs in medicine around the world!

Problem solved.

HusseinO views healthcare as a mjor part in his socialization of America plan. If only we can have enough intestinal fortitude in Congress on both sides to realize the costs and downside of this plan, it may be defeated. Groups such as AARP need to become more vocaland change their stance in order to influence enough on both sides to defat this albatross of a plan.

Defeating Healthcare should be at the top of the list if capitalsim is to be saved. Unfortunately the number of jobs being lost will make it an uphill struggle......

He may get some sort of Health Care reform but the outrage from the lack of service providers willing to work for what the government is willing to pay will be huge. Everyday more and more providers refuse Medicare, Medicad and the other low paying insurance services. With doctors incurring $350-$400K of Med school debt , they can't afford to work on the cheap. That plus insurance and overhead, $25 per visit reimbursements doesn't cover the cost of filing the claim. Some County hospitals already turn folks away for the lack staff.

That's just it...everything he has done so far will eventually swing the other way as political opinions ebb and flow...the healthcare bill on the other hand will not. That is going to be like Social Security, Medicare, Medicade, Welfare, etc...once it comes out of the bottle, it will never matter how much of a failure it is, it will never matter how much money it costs...the answer will always be...we just need more money to fix it...we need reform...etc...but never will it be able to be undone.

The insurance companies, the govt., and many others have let it go too long, and despite promises to fix it for about 20 years, I think the sentiment now will say 'hey, its got to be better than what we have now'.

The money aspect of it is going to be interesting as well...Big Business does not want to continue paying for healthcare...GM some years back was hoping for the universal healthcare plan so they could clean their books.

I am telling you guys...this is not the same climate that got Hillary laughed at.

If that ends up being the case and we spend 1/2 trillion every once in a while to fix it THAT wont leave as bad a taste in my mouth as 1/2 trillion to AIG, BOA and all of Barney Franks OTHER F-ups...

At least WE common folks could get SOMETHING for our 1/2 trillion, a perscription for sleeping pills, some antibiotic samples, a prostate exam... :D

All the government has to do is be willing to subsidise the most basic health care. If everyone could afford, or was given free regular check-ups, this country would have a much lower percentage of health issues and more people would do it. Preventative medicine saves money.

Isn't preventive medicine taking care of yourself. Exercise ,eat well ,don't abuse, smoking, drinking, drugs etc. etc.etc. Goverment health care is another way for the man to control your life.

Dick Cheney and Pelosi

I heard that Dick Cheney has a higher approval rating than Pelsoi.....If Republicans would quite pissing people off (10% say) about abortions, and quit pissing people off about religion (Say another 10% of the population), and quite making a big ass deal about the right to bare arms (Pissing off another 10% of the voting population... and started talking ECONOMICS and National Defense.

Talk about two things....Economics and Defense...They have Plan B, you ain't going to make me go to church, and I can get a gun anytime I want one....

Republican SPEAK UP quit being "BUNNY, DUCKY and KITTY..." Stand up for yourselves!!! Like Dick Cheney and his daughter....Ever heard her???

Cheney stood up for himself and AMERICA liked it!

You have been blinded beyond reason. 800 Billion Dollars in the first two months? This one can't swing the other way for three generations. Everything else is socialism in progress. If we are yippy dogs, you are blind sheep.
