My GF worked with this whitetrash girl who decided to move out out of state after getting their, Ford Escort, Focus, and house repoed. I was in the neighborhood Friday and went to the house to get my satellite dish back. I climbed on the roof of the trashed, vacant house and they just left the dog in the backyard
I went in the backyard which calling it a backyard sounds way to nice, it's more like a no shade sticker bush, hornet and roach field. Poor guy had black water with dead cockroaches floating in it, an empty bag of cheap store brand dog food and was simply left to die it was 106 that day. I could not get him to leave his yard, I had to go to McDonalds and get a hamburger and large water and lure him out. He ate and drank like Ive never seen. I took him to the inlaws got him a bath, nail trim, food, etc, and now he'e chilling in my backyard.

His name is JD hes a lab/border collie mix about 50 pounds, about 3 years old, he LOVES the water, fetch(hes a pro and has a big love on any sort of ball) will not come in the house, loves my weiner dogs, mastiff and 3 year old son. Has never been on a walk, I am taking him everyday and he looks like he's thinking hes being bad cause hes not in his yard. It breaks my heart just writing this thinking of his circumstance. He needs to be neutered which I am working on and will be current on all shots and flea treatment in a few days.

To put him in a couple words he is cool as shit. Automatic fetcher, he even picks the ball up and throws it at you if you ignore him, DOES NOT BARK, my dogs will go raise hell and he will not bark. He wont leave the yard or come in the house.

I will get some pice of JD tomorrow, my camera is at my shop.I would like to find him a bitchin home. I am glad to foster him for now, he is no hassle at all, and I know for sure he would make an awesome lake, river dog. We live in Central Ca. but for the right home would be willing to make a drive. I am going to buy him a dog house and all the stuff he will need for now. We are going to try to get him to be an inside/outside dog we will see what happens.

Shoot me a PM if interested or if you know anybody, I would keep him but I have 3 dogs already, if nobody wants him then he does have a home for life with me until the right family comes along.

Let me know
Jason

Sadly, I hear there is a lot of these abandoned dogs because of foreclosures. Friggin' owners just leave the dogs :(

i might have took him if it weren't so far away. my 2 dogs have a 5acre yard to roam. my collie got shoot awhile back and had his lh frt leg removed at the shoulder and my female yellow lab has noone to play with. she's fighsty(sp?) and it wears me out trying to keep her happy and play with her when i get home. be nice to have a dog her age with basic trainin done already. oero(the tripod collie) is gonna be a house dog come winter, he's 5 and it makes him sore runnin around with 1 frt leg, even though his crazzy azzzz can still outrun my lab:D

Border Collie/Lab Mix

I have a BC/Lab mix, also. She just showed up in my yard one saturday. I think she was there the whole day because when I went out to go skiing at 6am I saw a "present" in the yard. I spotted her at 6pm and talked to her as I packed the boat for a camping trip until 10pm.
As I was brushing my teeth, she starts barking so I led her out of the yard, closed the fence and told her to,"Go Home!" and went back in.
5 minutes later she was back on my patio, having forced her way under the fence...I hadn't pet her, fed her or given her water.
Two days later when I came home from work she went into a zoomy, running all over the yard; I had to sit down(she wore Me out) and when she slowed down she came up, put her paws in my lap and buried her face against my belly- Hook, line & sinker, she owned me!
She showed signs of being abused, so because of that and how she PICKED me, I feel I owe her a good life. She's been with me for 4 years.

Great people in this thread!
I love reading stories like this. My youngest son saw two pit bulls running the sidewalk, stopped and opened his back door and they both jumped in. He put up signs in the area but no one claimed them. Two weeks later the smaller one jumped his 4' fence but the big one stayed. That was two years ago. He's a wonderful dog, loves people and all dogs.

Blue you're a hero. I hope to do the same for a dog or cat some day.

Animal rescue

Look at the bottom of Rexone's signatures. There is a link to an Animal Rescue sight that sells advertisements and get paid by the number of "hits" the site sees. List it in your favorites and hit it as you sign on, and off, your computer. It is free, and I have received ZERO spam from it........Every little bit helps, and its going to get worse long before it gets better for these abandoned animals....Ray

I just took a dog in from a similar situation, his name is Gus and he is a 95 pound shepard that cries if you round a corner, serious abandonment issues. We lost our Aussie a year ago and just couldnt replace her but i knew a dog would eventually show needing a good home. This dog knows every trick there is and is a pleasure to be around. I know i am signing up for real heartache with a 7 year old Shepard but thats ok he will spend his last years knowing nothing but good. I have been home from Dutch Harbor for three days and already i have to leave the bathroom door open so he can see me. Kudos to you guys that take the time for these animals.

Good for you Blue.....:D

People like the dumb asse that abandoned the dog should be tracked on a list by the ASPCA or someone in case they try to adopt another dog. Pure idiots that would leave an animal in those conditions. We used to live on a road on the edge of a small town that was a "dumping" ground for abandoned pets. I spent a good deal over the time I lived there getting them cleaned up and adopted to good homes. Nothing makes me madder than these idiots.......:|err
