How does everyone have there ride plate adjusted? Mine is a nordic jet boat with a 454 in it.. both fuel tanks are in the back so a lot of weight in the back and none up front. I'm having trouble with the boat porpoising at all speeds when it's on a plane. I've messed with the ride plate some today but got tired loading the boat back and fourth. Just curious how everyone else has there's set up to give me somewhat of a starting point. Any help is much appreciated.

How about a picture of your style hull and picture of your pump set up. OR a good description so people can better help you.
How do you want to use your boat? Just cruising it or are you into speed?

I doubt that ride plate adjustments will solve your problem. As you inferred I think you have a CG problem. Is the situation improved with low fuel and/or passengers up front? If the ride is improved with the CG moved forward then relocating something forward is going to help. If you have a split bowl pump you might try some upside down wedges. A more expensive and complicated fix is to add adjustable cavitation plates. I'm not familiar with the Nordic, but porpoising is usually caused by too much 'rocker' in the keel and anything you do is a band-aid to fix it.

Thanks, yes, Long Beach this week end... And to keep this on topic, I have made changes to my ride plate, shoe and loader, looking for more speed... Up 3 mph.

Shirl, That is a significant increase . Your program will be very hard to beat at Long Beach !!
I'll be taking the pc to the lake so I can watch some...

I had porpoising issues even with the diverter on a C bowl. I added a split bowl(aggressor)an straight snoot with 4* pin...fixed it some then a bolt on ride plate/shoe set at 3* up. Fixed it for the most part especially with the diverter. I ended up adding a 2* wedge up for a bit more roost/lift at wot without hurting the use of diverter down when needed at cruising...ect.

Good advice. Close to what I run. I have a 14" long straight snoot with 3* pin, 3* plate, 4* wedge up.
The extra length lowers the thrust line like a droop with 5* LP intake,, even more if I go to a 2* wedge.

One day I will know what all that means lol. I did adjust the ride plate and that fixed my problem....took me awhile and a lot of walking to get the old truck but she rides a lot better. Mine was set just as far up as they could get it but now its set at about a degree or two down.
