Filed and put my new rings on yesterday but when it was time to put the oil rings on I had to stop. these look like they need to interlock, meaning the expander portion. can this be right? I have never seen this before. I had to stop because of it so I didn't get the bottom end done. thanks

Depending on the style, there can be an interlocking oil ring expander. Show us a pic of what you have.
