Roost: it had a droop and it was wedged 5* up. It could have been set up like that because someone already dialed it in or to give it a taller roost. ?
I won't/wouldn't know where the divertor is at without bump stops. It's not a race boat, it's a river/lake boat, I still would like to be able to plant the nose down for wakes, and be able to shoot a rooster tail.
Rod if your ever inclined to do so its simple to make a "removable" sweet spot upstop that attaches to the top center PD countersunk bolt Lemme know Tom

The up and down bump stop that I use was sent to me from Frank Place, he said they used a similar piece on Going Places II. It is a very simple design and can be installed or completely removed in less than 2 minutes, it is also very easy to adjust. Take a look at the close up picture of the pump that I posted a page or two back in this thread, you will see the bump stop that is attached to the hydraulic ram works for both up and down. If you like, I can send you a detailed picture of the assembly which you can use to make your own.
sphss I went to Lake Elsinore today to see WTF was up with my boat. It ran pretty good off of the trailer and once again by the time it was back on the trailer it was running like crap. There were ski races there and the water turned to chop pretty quickly. I'm pretty sure Ol Guy figured out the problem with the engine when he grabbed the mag to see if it was loose and practically lost his fingerprints in the process, the mag was really hot. RPM's were a decent running 5,200 when I first got out of the no wake zone and went down to a poor running 4,600 RPM's by the time it went back on the trailer. Ol Guy took a cool picture of my boat at speed and it also shows why divertor stops are needed, the roost was too high (IMO) for a "high" speed run. The switch back to a droop snoot obviously was a move back into the correct direction as the boat no longer rides really flat and really wet. I have added a working tach and speedo to the boat since my river trip. Also once again there were problems with the EVAC set-up as another hose melted off. However, unlike my river trip when the engine blew out the oil dipstick out of it's tube this time it felt like it needed to blow out every freakin' oil seal on the engine. It's jetted a lot richer since my river trip but I added shotgun type baffles to the headers which (I think) made the headers hot again (melting off the EVAC hose). All in all the boat was a disappointment. Thank God winter is coming up as I'm tired of my working on boat/playing in boat ratio.
I want to thank Ol Guy for taking the time to meet up with me, hauling my G/F around while I was trying to get some speed runs going, shooting me some advice on my combo, and just being a really cool person. Thanks "Ol Guy"! devil
Wellallrightythen, time for another page in this chapter. Last time out the engine blew out all of it's oil seals because I added shotgun tips to the headers, that phuked with the EVAC system and built pressure in the crankcase which in turn blew the gaskets out. The engine now has all fresh seals in it. I also swapped out the Borla's with the shotgun tips for a pair of Kook headers that are jet hot coated (no mufflers). Last time out the mag got hot and it gradually lost spark as the day went on. I've changed the mag out for a external coil HEI (thanks Outlaw!) so the ignition shouldn't be a problem next time out. I also got rid of the carpet and exposed the existing Balsa floor. It has a few bad area's but I've got an idea in my head how to hide those area's, but that's later. The driver's seat had 4 cracks in it at the front, the passenger seat had two cracks and a hole in it in the back, I fixed the cracks and the hole, and I have rattle canned them white to try and brighten the boat up a bit. I also painted the seats again, they were painted when I got them. There's no feeling quite like taking a Krylon can to your seat's vynl, LMFAO. I'm shooting for triple digits but next time out I would be extremely happy with 80. I have yet to drive this biatch with the engine running correctly. Thanks ol guy! Here's some pics! oh yea, wish me luck devil
You've done some very nice work there. That's quite a transformation compared
to when you first got it. I always like seeing the before and after pics.
Looks like all you need are some new seat covers.
Congratulations and good luck when you go out for your next trip.
wow you came along way looks great! ready for elsinore in January. Hope the weather holds out for everyone.devillet me know if your intrested in seat covers if you havent already picked someone out.

WOW. I didn't realize the change, but when you put it up like that...
Seat covers, all in due time. The least expensive I've found is $175 per side. I've got a friend who owns a stereo shop, he recently got a upholstory guy to work with him, I need to go talk with them.
Thanks for the kind words. Some things you just can't find in a catalog.
