Question: How do u guys manage to throw a tall rooster tail without porpoising? Every time I try to throw an (even) let's say 4 or 5 foot high rooster, my boat starts to porpoise like a son-of-a-gun.

I have ride plate and hydraulic place diverter but no wedge or droop? was gonna put both of them in, but then decided not to, since I am having enough problems with porpoising even without the droop and a wedge (I mean just normally raising my diverter).

So, what do u guys suggest?

PS, I realize it doesn't give me any more performance, but I just like to throw one as high as I can just for fun.
What kind of boat / pump? What angle is your rideplate at? Is there any hook in your hull?

Seriously, more HP.

More HP equates to more output pressure, which will set the boat more firmly against the ride plate, which stops the porpose.

I can run full up diverter with less than full throttle only on absolutely perfect water. Any chop at all trying to cruise with it up makes her porpose. Full throttle will carry the bow, but less pressure will not.

You could also lower the ride plate some, to not allow the boat to nose up as high before getting a good lean against the ride plate. This may help as well, but may cost you top end speed.

My boat will porpoise if I raise the diverter in the 3k-3500 rpm range. Trim it out (get rid of the rooster) or throttle down.

unless you have a serious hook in the hull,i would look into ride plate adjustment.make small adjustments untill you get it right,i wouldn't just jack it allthe way up or down.i would drop it about 1* at a time.

I was wondering the same thing. What does that have to do with the price of bread in China? :D

Thats what works for mine. Not so much HP, but throttle. I porpoise at full roost from 2800 to 3100 rpm, (32 mph), but more throttle gets its right to full speed and full throttle.
That's really more of what I meant. I have the same effect, no porpose at full throttle, but less throttle and it happens, and I don't have rocker in my case.

If it's porposing at full throttle, takes adjustments, or more maximum power to stop.
