That deal would have just about put an end to Pensky. Let Saturn die like the rest of GM.

Do you always have to come across like a complete dick? I read your posts here, and on OSO, and can't believe how bitter you are. And who cares if it's Penske, I made a typo. So stop acting like a prick.
And yes, GM as the 100y/o car company, has already died. IT is now a quasi governmental company much like Amtrak, with CEO and other board members being put into position by dick heads in DC. Oh, it will still be around for a long time, socialist programs always are.

Michael Moore's "Roger and Me" was the first in a long line of idiotic claptrap filled with fabrication and severely lacking in ANYTHING resembling reality or fact, let alone truth.

You remember the footage he had of people being evicted from their homes in it?
The "former GM employees"?
Nope, never were GM employees, just someone being evicted that he could cut into his axe-job and lie about.

That's just ONE that he faked.

Michael Moore has never made an honest "expose'" or "documentary" in his life, and wouldn't know one if you beat him to death with the film reel, or the projector.

Michael Moore is a stupid fat white looser who couldn't cut it in any field
you couldn't get ahead in without making your nose brown.

Turning to Michael Moore for accurate information is like turning to Al Gore because he's a scientist.

Saturn was one of the best US automakers... *uck GM.

But Saturn going out of business will affect more US citizens in losing employment. The US gov't better get a handle on this country instead of the politician's own interests.

That's too bad, if anyone could have made Saturn work it was Penske. It seems that Nissan/Renault was unwilling to build cars for them under contract. GM had refused to make cars for Saturn in the USA so the jobs would have been lost anyway. However the marketing, sales and service jobs would have been American had they survived.
Penske is the importer of our smarts and has done a good job there providing a type of vehicle that no one else in America wanted to produce. They are a great city car for errands and short trips, 15k miles+ and not a single problem. They may be made in France, but there seem to be a whole bunch of Americans down at the dealership getting a paycheck.

GM started thier own demise. The employees and the UAW had a chance to compramise a little to survive the long haul. GM has been out sourcing for awhile now and looks like a majority of the companiy will be setup in china.
What jobs do we save when the employees had a chance to do it themselves.
I feel for the colateral damage that good companies will get caught up in.
Best to let big companies fall now while the country is in a slump, so on the re-invention of its self will be a cleaner less muddied slate.
