working on my son in laws 17-10 sanger flat bottom.going with a sbc since this boat came set up this way, mounts ect. ect. we have 7 3/4 inchs from the pan rail to the bottom of the floor front to back of the engine.were in the world do we find a V DRIVE PAN to fit?
and were should the oil pump pick up be located? since the engine is mounted backwards,i would think the pick up should be at the timeing cover location.and the pan would need trap doors/baffles to keep the pick up submerged in oil at all times.the engine we have mocked up in the boat sits real even with the stringers,ie. no big slant.please help as this is my first time working on v drive type boats.
thanks don
ps. i will have mike post some pics. so you can see what were dealing with.

I bought a Canton Racing "reverse mount pan and rear mounted pickup" form Summit Racing. It is 7&1/4" from bottom of engine rail, it also comes with trap door and windage tray. Fits all small block Chevys (2 types for early and late models. Was reasonably priced @ $309.00 perfect fit including the 1 piece gasket. You will have to look under :marine pans. You use a stock M77 big block pump. There pickup tube is designed to mount at rear of boat for optimum oil pickup.

The Canton pan is a good call for the $$$$. I use Olsen pans and have had great luck with them. They are Aluminum and cost a bit more than the Summitt pan.
