compare what is offered i have vessel assist and i pay more than 53 bucks i have the captians gold unlimited with ocean coverage i pay 145 a year with trailer tow coverage. call them both and ask the same questions and see who has more bang for the buck. i prefer vessel assist and alot of havasuers prefer sea tow. its all the same to me. i dont care what happens to my boat (not really) cause i dont care where i am ill get towed in for free. if i need a jump in a cove some where its free out of gas is free. soft groundings etc etc all free. and im covered 50 miles offshore for all the above also. not worried a bout cell service cause i have ship to shore radio also. good luck with your choice. for 140 or less a year its great insurance and i think all should have some form of coverage.:D

Doesn't matter just get one. I had to be towed from the Sandbar back to Windsor, 2hours and $370.00 later. Won't go boating without now... I learned my lesson.

Doesnt your boat insurance cover towing? I have state farm and it pays up to $500 towing. Check with your insurance agent first to see what they cover and go from there.

5 hundy is great but i have had friends pay in excess of 1200 in some cases. it can get expensive real quick and if you have the right tow package you dont have to pay anything. in your case if the tow exceeded 500 your out of pocket and the object is to not come out of pocket. and i bet with state farm perhaps you have to pay all up front and then request reimbersment. what ever the case its pretty cool your ins carrier offers on the water towing:)devil
Vessel Assist gold capt or what ever the good one is called...I think it was just around $70 bucks with over the road tow for the boat included...why would anyone not spend 70 to 100 bucks to be secure on the water...:)sphss
