I didnt know that the fire and police were paid through the federal government.

Obama is throwing out the scare tactics that Fire and Police budgets will be hacked if the "sequester goes through. Never mind that the "sequester" was HIS idea or the fact that he has the authority to cut anything....green energy subsidies for example, and the fact tht in reality 85 billion i ony about 2% of the budget.

More scare tactics.

It's pretty sad when you have to warn America about the effects of the cuts you initiated.

Local and state budgets for 1st reponders are subsidized by the feds...in addition many police and fire agencies are federal...FBI, US Forest service etc

If those budgets are cut....its because this administration CHOOSES to do so.

It all originated HERE... And he agreed to it at that time... As well as the deal that was cut before midnight Dec 31 2012......................

On Aug. 2, President Obama signed into law the Budget Control Act of 2011 (BCA). The bill
allows the president to increase the debt ceiling by up to $2.8 trillion, but it will reduce the deficit
by $2.3 trillion over 10 years, with at least $840 billion coming from discretionary spending cuts
over the next decade. In the first year of enactment, fiscal year 2012, discretionary programs
will see a cut of $44 billion (4 percent). There are two ways the federal deficit can be cut –
through automatic “caps” on categories of spending or through a proposed budget hammered
out by a “Super Committee” of 12 members of Congress. The automatic caps exempt some
mandatory programs like Social Security, food stamps, and Medicare. However, no revenues
would be raised to help retire the deficit. The Super Committee could cut any program or raise
revenues.

How does the Budget Control Act control the budget?

BCA aims to reduce the deficit by $2.3 trillion over 10 years1 through two main vehicles:
****Caps on discretionary spending: BCA limits – or “caps” – overall discretionary
spending for the next ten years. These caps will reduce spending by $841 billion2 over
the next decade. If Congress approves budgets higher than the amount specified below,
a procedure known as “sequestration” is initiated and across-the-board reductions in
discretionary spending will occur. Mandatory programs like food stamps and Social
Security are exempt from cuts and the cap.
****The “Super Committee” deficit reduction plan: BCA creates a new, special joint
committee of Congress charged with finding an additional $1.5 trillion in deficit reduction.
This “Super Committee” can cut spending (including Social Security and Medicare),
raise revenue, or propose a combination of both. If the committee cannot agree on a
plan, or Congress fails to

BAM! Same with teachers. First of all, 50 years ago the feds didn't subsidize any of these things. The states local governments were allowed to keep all the money their communities raised. The FEDS LOVE local subsidies. They are the perfect means to keep the states and local governments inline. AZ tells Washington to fuck off over the drinking age and DC threatens to cut off there hiway funds. Who the fuck is the FEDS to have the money to start with. If the gas was pumped in AZ, the money should stay in AZ.

The founding fathers warned about this and too many of the dimbulb's parents on here thought like their offspring do, and cherish the feds. Ask R&J how he feels about the feds having ALL the power and ALL the money. Its the typical marxist means of control, and the sheep welcome it.

The Chimp claims government services will be cut. Ha! Watch the states cut government services that support welfare. Cops, Fire, Utilities, other basic services, and administrators will be untouched. We all know the utopian socialist society fails when the money runs out.

The House will start moving funds to shore up the military and the Senate liberals will have no choice except to support it or get voted out.

History proves you wrong. The EBT cards will stay loaded. Remember, they are the "entitled". They will bench service providers and as much of the life safety as they dare. Not to worry. All pay will be retro active once this is all worked out and no government worker will lose a dime in this. They NEVER DO. EVER!!!. They simply take a vacation during this, and get paid for it later.

They do this as punishment to the tax payers for not seeing it THEIR WAY. If we are disobedient, they punish us by taking away the things we expect from our tax dollars but continue to pay the things they know piss us off. Its always the same.

This makes me sick at my stomach. How dare that man do what he is doing with all of the evidence to show he caused it. How can congress let him get away with it?

He insists on the automatic cuts in November 2011 and vows to veto any legislation that does not include it. And when it comes time for it to happen its Obama to the rescue? OMG the man is a genius. Being able to plan ahead so far in advance to push for tax increases. And blame it on the other party.

If I were super rich I would start a newspaper that exposed all of this BS. The facts are right there for anyone to see. There will be no jobs lost. Only a reduction in increased spending.

AAAHHHHHHH.......:)bit

He did exactly the same thing in creating the fiscal cliff on 12/31 and the extention of the tax cuts. He knew that if he lost the election, he, he wouldn't sign the extension, and Romney wouldn't be swore in yet. And if he won, he could still refuse to sign them knowing congress didn't have time to override him. The man or people around him are artists when it comes to long range plans of disaster.

I'm not surprised by any of this..... This IS the Barry plan!!!! Destroy the U.S.A from the inside..
Dinesh D' Souza's prediction and movie is playing out in real life... People were warned, but the takers outnumbered the makers ( voting 2-8 times didn't hurt either ), and so here we are living Barry's childish jealousy from his mentors!!!!

And approved by both houses...just in-case you forgot (again)...:)bulb

The government was approaching its debt limit, which needed to be raised through a congressional vote or else the country would default in early August 2011. While Democrats were in favor of a “clean” vote without strings attached, Republicans were demanding substantial cuts in exchange for raising the debt limit.

President Obama and congressional leaders ultimately agreed to the BCA, which would allow the debt ceiling to be raised by $2.1 trillion in exchange for the establishment of the supercommittee tied to the fall-back sequester, as the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities explains. The deal also includes mandatory spending reductions on top of the sequester by putting caps on non-entitlement discretionary spending that will reduce funding by $1 trillion by 2021.

Who supported the debt-ceiling deal?

Party leaders, the White House and most members of Congress supported the debt-ceiling deal: The BCA passed on a 268-161 vote in the House, with about one-third of House Republicans and half of House Democrats opposing it. It passed in the Senate, 74-26, with six Democratic senators and 19 Republican senators opposing it.

Einstein, please allow me to direct you to post #5 of this thread...

NOW... Are you going to tell us that there wasn't SUBSTANTIAL opposition to raising the debt ceiling by the republican party leading up to "the deal" ??? Is that what your trying to tell us???

I love the way you twist things Shue. Of course it was passed by Congress. It still does not negate the fact that it was O's administration that came up with the idea of the sequester and presented it to Congress. Of course the Rep liked it as it was a way to actually get some spending cuts. Something you will never get out of this Administration. Also don't forget that after the bill with the sequester was signed O said he would veto any new bill that tried to remove the sequester. Since then the house has passed 2 bills to deal with the sequester only to have Ried throw it in a corner once again. Not even letting them come to the floor for discusion let alone a vote. Now if the sequester was such a bad thing why has your hero done nothing to avoid it in the last 2 yrs ? Why is it a good idea when he presented it to congress and a bad thing now ? Why is it the Rep controlled house has passed two bills to avoid the sequester yet the Senate Dems have done nothing ? Why has O done nothing ? Yet you blame the Reps if the sequester happens ? O has spent more time golfing with Tiger than he has spent working with the Rep leadership and the Dems. The man has no clue what it means to be a leader. He is no Pres. He is just the Campaigner in Chief. He couldn't lead a girlscout troop across the street for ice cream. With every post you show why you and your ilk are the major problem with this country. Now go back to masturbating to MSNBC.

It seems like the way to solve the sequester issue is as simple as a pay cut for all fed employees.Everybody gets the same paycheck minus 5% off the top. Every still has a job, nobody collects unemployment. You can't tell me that someone who makes 75K + a year can't get by on a little less.
