I have a tx-19 that is set back and the hand hole is all the way out so that I can remove it.I have seen some where it is set back and it is not far enough to remove the hand hole cover unless you remove the transom plates. How should it be? Also how do you fine tune the intake housing after you have the right shoue set up? Do you grind away the shoue till the conversion is smooth, that is what I would guess.

depends on the kiel, and some are all the way out and some are in a little due to the biteing edge of the intake. most boats i have seen the biteing edge is at the end of the transome. they say thats were the pump works the best for big power and racing.

Back of shoe should be even with the transom, this puts the cleanout about half way out the transom. People have build custom transom adapters to allow use of cleanout, with partial set-backs. Just some info I was given to work from.

It is hard to tell. Had tune problems all year. Only got one good day of full throttle passes out of it before my wire harness burnt. It seamed to ride wet, in comparison to a lot of the other txs. It always cavitated no matter what mph. The pump was in another boat and it never cavitated. I've got about 500 more hp than the other boat, but all the clearences in it are good. It was a new berk. I've got it torn down right now re-rig, put it's pump back in it, do some bottom work, electrical, rail kit, so i'm hoping to put it back together in the right spot. Don't want to remove it again.

You may find you need to have the pump tweeked, hp applications new / stock just don't do. Depending on HP / hull you may find you will need an inducer to boot. Setting the intake can, will make or break you.......
Unless you know exactly how to do it... don't, find a good jet shop to set the intake.

some say do it some say dont...exactly whats so hard for the donts?level side to side,i read here 3.7*.im guessing up in the back...take measurements before for reference....equal distances from the strakes...tape measure protracter laser level light saber....get it all clean set it up,have a couple beers and look at it for a while..mines tryin to come out anyway .and one fin broke off (ran fine with one fin ,i didnt even know till i got home) so ill do it my own gosh darn self.im not a dr but i play one at work

Sounds like you have it under control sphss Bigggest thing is make sure its sitting in there right.
