Bit by bit I am piecing together the new engine. Got the short block...just got the lifters from Straub...hope to be able to get the heads and cam next month and hopefully sell my heads in the mean time.

My uncle went to EFI a few years ago and gave me his carbs from his set up (2- boost referenced 850's). Couple questions...is it worth milling off the choke tower, can sight glasses be installed in a bowl, and dow do you calculate where to start on the jetting and everything? I am going to rebuild them as I know one was leaking when he pulled it and they have been sitting for a while.

I will probably do EFI down the road...but right now I have just about everything for the draw through.

850 jetting

I have my 850's jetted at 87 pri/89 sec with no pv's but on my roots blower but you never know if your power valve is opened up with a boost referenced app.I have clear site plugs in mine in the bowls.Milling the choke horn and ventury cleanup may get you 30 cfm I think.
