Any one planning hitting Shasta memorial day weekend? We go every year, it would be fun to get a few boats together and tie up.

I'm going as long as it's not raining. I will be staying at the Lakehead RV across from the basshole. There's some people in our group who have a houseboat rented for that weekend also. Typically it doesn't rain down there that weekend but this winter has been so weird I don't rule anything out. Makes no difference though. All I got is an old crusty roll bar boat.

Usually we stay at one of the camp grounds off lakehead. However, last year we stayed at one right by the RR tracks... I couldn't drink enough to sleep through that.. And I tried really hard LOL .We've never really ventured past slaughter house though, and I know there is a lot more lake to be seen.. N2O I thought you had like 4 boats?

slowDmax and N2otoofast4u you two better really do a rain dance and pray or rain because at this time there is NO water near that part of the lake . At this time you can only get to Sugar Loaf .

I won't bring the hydros or jet down there. Scared to sink them.

We'll launch at sugar each day. It's not ideal but we've done it so often that it's not a big deal.

So looking to book a camp site for memorial day. In years past we have stayed at Antlers, however, due to water levels we stayed at Lake Shore (east Im guessing) nice but it was right next to the Rail Road tracks. I couldn't get drunk enough to sleep through that. Believe me I tired... Anyone have any suggestions. I'm afraid Antlers will once again be out of water. Needs to have a shower.

You stayed at Lake Shore on the left hand side after you crossed the bridge? The one that has the few small cabins and the restaraunt and bar at it?

Yeah. That's the RV Villa. The train runs that side of the valley. You can hear it from every camp area along that road. That is where we are staying. I'd suggest ear plugs, or an RV........ or both. I've never been bothered by it, but I've also always been in the trailer or motorhome. Cleveland, Johnny, and Bethel are all coming. Should be a good time!

Oh Boy.. sounds like a good time.. Who is Bethel? I haven't seen any of those guys since dune fest like in 2011 LOL... I'm not sure who is going with us yet. We're debating on just getting a hotel room and saying F**k camping.

Any one In the DLB going to have a fast Cat there?

We've stayed at the hotel across from the basshole several times on weekend trips. They aren't great, but are cheap, the owners are really nice, and FAR better than a tent.

YES SIR...... I'll be down Tuesday evening but no way to get the boat in the water, so Wednesday I'll probably hang around camp and enjoy the day away from work. Few more come Wednesday night one of which has a pickup so we'll be on the water Thursday. SLOWDBAG will be down Friday night I think he said.
