West marine might have the cable, You might want to see if you can find the size writen on the cable to match how long it is. [Part numbers that is]
Ok, I will try them tomorrow.Do the Merc's and Volvo have the same ends?

NO, What style shifter do you have?
It is a Gaffrig offshore style 2 stick hook up to a Vovlo Dpx drive.
volvo dpx shift cable

the shift cable for a dpx drive is a standard morse red jacket cable (33c) it goes from the shifter at the helm to the transom thru the rubber heater hose looking sleeve to the outdrive shift mechanism if you remove the rear shift housing cover you will see where it hooks up to the bell crank assy. there should be a number on the side of the red jacket outers sleeve that indicates how long the cable is.the new cable is all you need you can reuse the old ends. just soap up the old cable before trying to pull it thru the rubber hose at the transom and soap up the new one on install. good luck! by the way what gear ratio and props are you running?
