What kinda speed can you get out of one.[/QUOTE]
The 28's and[ 24's were I/O's. The 20' is a true 20' from bow to stern. They made them with the jet, IO and outboard.
There was a test done on a 550-600 hp blower motor and stated it ran 85mph. They also tested a 225 HP two stroke outboard with a power prop. It planed in 3 seconds and ran in the mid to high 60's with the power prop.
The 20' is pretty tight in the back seat with the jet power package, they put the seat beside the engine cowl or made two small jump seats facing each other behind the driver and passenger seat.
The outboard configuration affords a normal back seat with much more room in the aft passenger area. I have the original 20' silhouette mold and original plug. I will keep the original mold and eventually offer the boat in its original form and a stretched version. The stretched version will also have 6-8" more free-board throughout and 12" to 18" overall longer
Both boats will have a glass liner, glass engine hatch and back seat and have a more modern and lighter "wood free" build.
I really want to build myself one soon with a 300 HP outboard and a lighter more modern build.
Cobra1 (Scott) here on the board has a plethora of information on the Silhouettes.
