I don't know about the tubing (never tried it), but skiing for sure. Not a problem at least with my old hull. You really couldn't tell any difference with or without.

Shouldn't be a problem. I ski'd behind my boat for years with one. Just keep the nozzle down.

Every now and again a refreshing blast from the diverter feels great at 70 mph and 115 deg out. Just have to put your head down stings alittle bit. After a few drinks though doesnt matter.
