I've seen guys that have these small boats, probably 12' range i'm going to guess. They all usually have outboards on them. They look like a normal jetboat just half the size. Last time i was out this guy had one that matched his hallet boat, and his son was following him in it. Was pretty slick. Where can i find somthing like this?

I don't know about 12' O/B boats but i would love to come across a 16' hull that would accommodate a SBC engine. Shaun, what part of CA are you in?

The only one I found close to what you're talking about is sold. I'd like to find a 16' Tahiti or something like that.

What you are looking for is a mini Schiada. Pretty sure they cam in 10 & 2 foot versions and often have 40 horse outboards on them.

We build several that are 16-17 feet. These make great adventure boats.
Prolly not really what you mean tho....
What I'm looking for is small for a hotrod boat. I'm building a twin turbo 350/383 sbc and small, light jet powered is what I would like to find. Do you have a web site and a price?

There was a big surge in guys running the 240 Mercury Sportjet driven boats for a few years as that package would push our 17 Sports to 63ish mph with 2 aboard and the boats were light and nimble. With the demise of the 175/240 platform several years ago, and the fact that the replacement Optimax motors are physically larger and heavier we are seeing a decline in boats being purchased with these drives. In fact we don't even offer the 250 in the 17 right now due to fitment issues.
With that said, like in most industries we are seeing a resurgance of guys using the typical V8 setup in their sportboats. Now of course there is a weight factor when you get stuck pushing but that may not be an issue for you.

Check out our web page and forum and give me a call with your questions. I'll be honest we dont have a ton of information on that type of hull on our site as they tend to cater to a limited crowd.

Cheers

p.s. our 17 X Sport with the Mercury 240 is probably thge most fun boat we build, or at least a close second to the 21 tunnel (with big HP) :D

no, 16ft is too long... These are miniture boats, most i've seen have a weed wacker motor on the back, like a little one that might push you 30 mph in a dinggi.

I found a site that talks about cutting up a jetski and makign one, i had two of thos sitting around and i'm seriously thinking about giving it a go. i was going to ditch them anyway.

$15K??? It's a bit too small for what I want to do anyway. And, besides that, before I'd spend $15K on something like that, I'd look for a good project boat to play with. He doesn't say anything about the performance of the boat.
