But what is wrong with the Republican party....with these numbers they could squash it and be heros....but they wont. Fox basically ran informercials on sunday why shutting down the government would be bad, even though thats not the game plan.

One man's ObamaCare nightmare | Fox News

Andy and Amy Mangione of Louisville, Ky. and their two boys are just the kind of people who should be helped by ObamaCare. But they recently got a nasty surprise in the mail.

"When I saw the letter when I came home from work," Andy said, describing the large red wording on the envelope from his insurance carrier, "(it said) 'your action required, benefit changes, act now.' Of course I opened it immediately."

It had stunning news. Insurance for the Mangiones and their two boys, which they bought on the individual market, was going to almost triple in 2014 --- from $333 a month to $965.

The insurance carrier made it clear the increase was in order to be compliant with the new health care law.

"This isn't a Cadillac plan, this isn't even a silver plan," Mangione said, referring to higher levels of coverage under ObamaCare.

"This is a high deductible plan where I'm assuming a lot of risk for my health insurance for my family. And nothing has changed, our boys are healthy-- they're young --my wife is healthy. I'm healthy, nothing in our medical history has changed to warrant a tripling of our premiums.

"Well I'm the one that does the budget,” said his wife. "Eventually I've got that coming down the pike that I gotta figure out what we're gonna cut what we're gonna do, to afford a $1,000 a month premium."

Their insurance company, Humana, declined to comment, but the notice to the Mangiones carried this paragraph:

" If your policy premium increased, you should know this isn't unique to Humana -- premium increases generally will occur industry-wide.

"Increases aren't based on your individual claims or changes in health status," it continued. "Many other factors go in to your premium including: ACA compliance, including the addition of new essential health benefits."

ACA, of course, is the abbreviation for the President's new law, the Affordable Care Act -- which for the Mangiones will be anything but affordable because the law adds a new tax on every insurance policy and requires a list of additional benefits the Mangiones didn’t want to pay for.

Robert Zirkelbach, spokesman for American Health Insurance Plans, which represents insurers, explained that "for people who currently choose to purchase a high deductible, low premium policy that's more affordable for them, they are now being required to add all these new benefits to their policy.

That," he says, "is also going to add to the cost of their health insurance premiums."

This comes amid a huge debate over whether ObamaCare will raise or lower insurance rates.

For the Mangiones, that answer is abundantly clear.

The ugly truth is becoming apparent.
It all sounded good to those who fell for the rhetoric.
But now, except for those with basically zero earned income, the cost is being levied.
Our Blue Shield plan has doubled in 3 years,
and now we have received a similar letter as the one posted above.
Except Blue Shield is actually discontinuing our plan due to non compliance issues, rather than modifying it.
The lateral option within Blue Shield is double the deductible (8K per) and double the premium.
Deb and I are screwed. Big time.
I CAN pay the 2THOUSAND a month premium, but Blue Shield has made it clear that there is no guarantee that plan will even exist next year either.
Like many, we are also in the middle of major medical treatments. (Debs cancer)
we have no idea where all this will leave us, but Ocare is EASILY the biggest, most despicable action/ burden that this admin has pulled on this Country's citizens.

I haven't heard what Louisiana's version of Blue Cross/Shield will do. But it doesn't look good from what you are saying. Can't wait. :)sphss

what do you expect them to do? house has voted to defund it 40 times. but the dem controlled senate will never vote on anything that defunds. if the house agrees to increase debt ceiling on condition of defunding ovomitcare, senate won't vote on it. even if senate did vote on it, ovomit would veto and blame repubs for shutting down government. the only thing "wrong" with the repub's is, they don't have control of congress.

TG, there is a group in this country that don't have to follow the law (pay premiums) and still be covered by the hospitals.
Individual Mandate and Undocumented ImmigrantsUndocumented immigrants living in the United States are expected to become the largest segment of the population without health insurance. It has been estimated that as much as half of the illegal immigrant population in the United States doesn't have health insurance.
Undocumented immigrants are not subject to the health care reform law’s individual mandate, the controversial clause upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court in June 2012 requiring most Americans to purchase health insurance.
Because illegal immigrants are not subject to the individual mandate, they are not be penalized for being uninsured. Illegal immigrants can still get emergency medical care under federal law.
According to the Congressional Research Service: "Unauthorized (illegal) immigrants are expressly exempted from the mandate to have health insurance and, as a result, cannot be penalized for noncompliance."

If they doesn't defund this POS legislation, look for all the wealthiest to forced into single payer insurance before Asshat leaves office, which is exactly what Obama and his minion wanted from day one.

If they don't kill this thing in its infancy, it will be here forever.
GN the only thing that can be done is keep this issue in front of the eyes of America. Even if both houses pass defunding this POS of a law we know that O will just veto it and will be law until he is gone. Hopefully we get something other than a community organizer for a president that will agree with the people...BBD

I have now come to realize that this phrase is a description of a stupid, angry, socialist piece of shit that is angry to have been born to lowlife parents and wants to get even with society by destroying the economy while lining his pockets with money supplied by other disgruntled lowlifes trying to fuck everyone out of their money!

and they have lost their balls. Shutting down the government is a scare tactic the left dreamed up. The government doesn't really shut down entirely. Funds are available to keep the most essential services running. Nobody will tell you that. Burning some slush fund cash isn't so bad considering it's our money.

Fullup, I agree with you on this all the way.Their balls are locked away somewhere,as they sure haven't used them in quite some time.Sometimes I wonder if they don't want complete control, just like our present bunch of asshats, just in a different way.I have lost a serious bunch of respect for Republicans in the last 10yrs. Those that we trust to represent us are truly pathetic.I mean they let a foreigner run and win our highest office. How much more pathetic can you get to let this happen, all for an agenda that backfired on them...........JMHO

We all knew this would happen. The only people who will benefit are the MF'ers who get all the free stuff anyway. It is for all of your leaders people. The parasites of society.
