As I work my way through this new blown motor, I'm gonna have a lot of dumb questions.... here's another. Is there a performance benefit or down side to a spacer between the hat and blower? My set up didn't come with one, meaning the hat bolts direct to the blower. However, if it doesn't hurt anything, raising the hat up a bit would keep the mag from being in front of the butterflys.
Thanks...

We are.... MSD Pro Mag.... Best of both worlds :)devil
Like dis one right 'cheer:
Wise move on the Pro Mag, David. Like I said, there are mags and then there are Pro Mags. The only reason you would need a spacer is if you were going from a large opening on the top of the blower to a smaller injector hat, like a bug or bird. If you were running a dragster, you'd probably want to get the hat higher above the roll cage, but in a boat it doesn't matter. Personally, I like the look of the hat directly on the blower.

The spacer's are kinda like a blower tunnel ram on top. The problem with the spacer is that now the suction that has been taking place in said amount of volume in the hat is now increased, honestly in terms of respond now your fuel has to go another inch to get into the blower, thus slower fuel delivery (But propbably not even noticable, just saying. They make that tapered one I think its a bds product for like 400ish + The spacer's kinda such the fuel down the sides and I don't like that.

This is a toss up, I like them, but I don't have one either :D

Injector Hat Sapcer

Moving the injector hat up and forward will benefit you, only if you have a race blower with the smaller forward opening. Moving it up and forward improves the angle of the air flow into the supercharger. That is the reason for the carbon fiber hats or The Big & Ugly.
