Depends on the build. I would use CP's Bullet line if they have the piston I need before either.

Been using Mahle in most of my builds. Very pleased with them. The CP is a good piston but I like the Mahle a little better myself, mostly because of their rings that come with the pistons but also an excellent design. We sell Icon, CP/Bulet, Mahle, JE/SRP and Wiseco, so I have no dog in the fight as far as that goes. Of all those, the Mahle is my first choice. I think my second choice would be the Wiseco Pro Tru, but they stopped selling them with rings, so there's a little more cost there. Lots of good "budget" forged pistons on the market.

The down side to CP Bullet is that they are only available in higher compression and flat top. So if your looking for something in a 10 to 1 range for pump gas, its Mahle, SRP, Wiseco Pro Tru, or Icon. If you're thinking about some spray, I tend to lean a little towards the Icon due to the 2618 alloy and they put the ring pack farther down the piston, and shorter, thicker pin. The others in a 10 to or flat top are 3042.

If you not considering any NOS, then I like the Mahle in 10 to 1 range.
