So, let me get this straight. Per IRS last report 2010. 140,000,000 tax returns were filed. Of that 47% or 65,800,000 did not pay any federal income tax. That means 74,200,000 people payed taxes. So out of the 310,000,000 people in this country only 24% of them payed income taxes and the Democrates what to tax them MORE.

And that is how Owebama got in there in the first place. Just think when this increased to over 50%, and by the looks of things, it will! Greece here we come! :)hammers

I know it would be unfair for some, but I am more and more inclined to think that only property owners and/or tax payers should have the right to vote!

And most of the $ was paid by the top % filers. Why is that not good enough? Where is the press asking O how much more he thinks he can raise?

FYI, my bro has 6 kids and pays no fed income tax.

Because they KNEW that if EVERY Tom, Dick and Harry was allowed to vote we would be right where we are. The elections controlled by those that DO NOT apy taxes or are somehow on the government teet. Basically a true democracy where the majority rules, even if that means the minority much feed, cloth, and enrichen the ones who REFUSE to work. I believe we use to call that slavery in this country.

The choice is really simple for anyone with a brain - although that seems to disqualify most democrats here.

One wants to tax a few ALOT more, the other perfers to have EVERYBODY pay their fair share. As in EVERYBODY. 200,000,000, all paying SOMETHNG!''
Let's not forget, out of those that paid zero in taxes, many actually recieved a money. Not a refund, but money they didn't even pay in. Imagine if they paid $1.00 the HUGE revenue gain! Add in the 47 million or so that don't even have an earned income to tax, actually getting a job and working!!!! Maybe no additional tax revenue, but a huge burden lifted off the budget!

We aren't to the point that these losers out number the work force. But add in the ignorant bleeding hearts, and the whoa is me whiners like CVX and you get way to close to a majority for my tastes.
Ozero not only does absolutely nothng to encourage the dead beats to get off their asses, he gives them the scapegoat they need to justify their using of the system, and the NEED for more funds to supply the system.
And to think that people that think so highly of themselves like R&J, zombie, shue, and CVX all buy into the bullshit scapegoat storyline. Unbelievable to me that a rational thinking person who thinks so highly of their intelligence could be so stupid I guess there were some smart people in 1933 Germany that fell for the BS as well.

Bigger problem in my point of view is taxing a few more or all of us more will absolutely do nothing to rein in spending and demand accountability.

Every polictically involved liberal I know constantly calls Republicans obstructionists due to the precedented filibusters since the 2008.

I think that means our elected officials are doing there job especially since 2010 when the Tea Party helped put a lot of them in office.

I'm not looking for compromise with the out of control spending combined with the socialist and corporatist policy that has been hemorrhaging our tax dollars. I want accoutablity and entitlement reform along with a balanced budget that does not spend more than the anticipated tax revenue for the same year.

Don't all tax payers want that?

There is NO doubt MS U, that the government can get the budget undercontrol much easier, and with much more surplus to pay down the debt thru cuts than they can thru increased revenue. By a HUGE margin. I think that many would even be willing to have an modest increase in taxes if it was match by sweeping cuts. Think CVX would go for it. Or the other 3 million plus government workers? Think the GM workers would vote tomorrow to cut the GM line to only Chevys, and then only trucks? 50 million PLUS teet suckers almost ALL dimbulbs, are going to go for that? No more Obamaphones? Are you crazy?

I know whats good for everyone else is not good for them. I'm still not over Joe Biden's hypocritical comment from 2008 when he said paying taxes is Patriotic. I grew up 15 minutes from the Delaware border. No sales tax, thats where we went to buy everything besides a car or house to save tax on it. Delaware is also where the majority of all the Corporations and Wallstreet banks are incorporated ( the ones OWS can't stand ) because the state is friendly to corporations.

Sounds biased and hypocritical to me!

I make as many major purchases as I can in Orange Co. Not because I am trying to dodge the SMALL savings in tax. More as a protest to L.A. city for raising the tax. I still giggle a little at the thought that MILLIONS every day are EARNED in L.A. city and taken to Orange and spend by the Orange residents. It drives L.A. insane. They have tried a couple of different things to get that money, or at least the taxes from it, but have failed so far.
I figure in time it will be like the school taxes. First the state will take all the sales tax, and re-distribute it like they do property taxes for schools. When that fails, the feds will step and they will handle all tax revenues. That will make all things better. Right CVX?

Ya know....i think the most people who work wouldn't mind paying paying a little more for taxes...even if those who didn't pay any now could deal with a token contribution....

If the g-dam government would do what most people in this country have had to do in the last 4 years just to survive...cut the damn overhead, conserve, minimize waste,do without some thing...any friken thing.....the very thought of people who work their ass off for a living, economized every way possible just to keep rolling and along comes the big fat pig government taking their share and wasting it must be enough to really piss people off...

I haven't worked in the last 4 years...i have been taking care of a full time family commitment but the day is coming for me to earning a living again and the only thing that feels right to me is small business and mostly cash transactions....until government figures out how to operate in a efficient manor...f them....
Bad enough the government taxes everything else....

And i don't care what anybody thinks, if we had started drilling our own oil years ago the price of gas could be a buck cheaper..maybe 3....Yes..it is a long term project....But the economy in north dakota seems to be totally ignored.....not enough production to affect overall price at the pump but their economy rocks...
Drilling is the path out of the hole we have allowed government to dig..Jobs..lots of jobs...maybe -$1 gal gas...1 dollar on every gallon of gas used in a year is a lot of g-dam money...
More income tax contributions....and cutting into the profit margin of every country in the middle east could solve many problems....
But none of it will happen as long as government keeps eating our taxes like candy....as long as they can keep spending they will never solve the problem......

Wasn't there an issue a long time ago about taxes an no representation? Seems like we are getting taxed and government doesn't seem to understand what is in our best interest..
