temp sender

on a elc. temp sender is it ok to shorten the end that go's into the water/oil
passage???

It's about 1/2" long would like to cut it down about 3/16 to 1/4".

I'm useing it in a oil passage and trying not to block to much of it.

gen 5 block, going in one of the oil cooler plugs by the pan.

Get a different sender, like a 1/8th NPT sender, and screw it into an adapter, then into the block.

I have 2 of the 1/8 senders but thay dont read right and have no# on them.
Have one with 3/8 npt that reads right.

I'm going to look tomorrow and see if I can put my oil press. in that hole and put the temp in the hole right above the oil filter pad

Next time I pull the pan I will weld one in it.

I'm thinking maybe screw a short nipple in the hole, screw on a coupler, then the sender?

Just go with the oroginal MikeT strap-on...I did

Last I heard it was on back order............due to supply in demand!

With the MikeT post I found a 1/8th sender, and I have a 3/8th npt to 1/8th bushing that will fit the block. Which is what I had just wrong sender and APITA to get to
