I am a construction super and in Phx. right now jobs are hard to come by. The company that I work for last year had 14 supers working, today we have three. I'm finishing a job now an really worried about what is coming next. The arch that I did the last shopping center for went out and recommended us with me running the job. Well here's the bad part...we did not get it. Next the owner of my company told me the good part....You are going to Ajo next week to upgrade all the services for the Boarder Patrol station........We are also in the drivers seat to build the new Boarder Patrol commmand center......It will be a 2 year job.......I really need to keep working but Ajo......This is going to be tough

You said it, the good and the bad... On the good side, Ajo is really close to Gila Bend. :)sphss

Or if you want to go the other way, it's just a short hop to Rocky Point, or further South, like San Carlos. :D

I have a buddy that works as a Sr Super for a very large commercial construction company that was worried just as you are. He contemplated moving to a different local company but would lose pay and tenure. Eventually he uprooted his family from Phx and moved to Missouri for a three year position with his company. Go where the money is until this freakin economy turns around. I know guys that are in the mid to late thirties joining the military because they cannot find work. Good Luck!

i hear you on the construction business being slow. i work for a waste hauler here in the valley, our main line of business is construction waste and recycling and we've taken about a 40 percent hit. thank God our pres had the good sense to store up some cash when things were rolling along so our company is strong, but since we are slow here i've gotta get a division up and running in Tucson. If any of you guys need a waste hauler here in the valley give me a call, i'll save you some cash and maybe my small commission will put a few gallons of gas in my boat. 480 297 9991
