I doubt we will even make it to September this year which is pathetic seeing how we had a FULL lake.:|err Was out there last night and I couldn't believe how low it was around Folsom point.

Something strange is going on this year. They have been letting the water out at about 5300 cfs since July 1st. I can't remember them letting it out this fast in recent memory whether or not the lake was full or empty. Take a look at this site and you can go back about 20 years or so and look what the trends have been.

I'm going out today, late in the afternoon, and Sunday. I will go up there on sunday. We were out last saturday and nobody was around so we hung out for about a 1/2 hour and took off.
If folsom is done soon, how about Rollins. At the begining of the year it was full.

Your right, they should sell 1/2 year passes. How about any other lakes.Does anyone know the status of New Melonies or Oroville?

Berryessa is still the nicest lake around within an hour drive..
RE: Levels at Oroville

I can speak for Oroville.. Asof this post the level is down to 737 feet with full being 900'. At the Spillway ramp we have 8 lanes of launch from 726 - 820 and 2 lanes from 695 - 726. Over at Bidwell ramp we have 2 -3 lanes from 700 - 780.. And I have been told that this last winter when the Lake was at it's lowest they poured additional ramp at Bidwell so we can launch I think down to the mid 600's... The lake is droppig at about 2 feet a day !!! I'd say getting into Sept. is a long shot or we might have one or two lanes at only one ramp and that means on the weekend probably an hour or two to get your boat on or off..
We went to Oroville last year and we launched from the main ramp at the dam. It was so low that we drove down to the bottom of the main ramp to a parking lot and used that ramp, which went all the way down to what was a single lane with a dock.I would say that if we went out a few days later the launch ramp would have been mud. When we got out on the lake there was still plenty of water to boat on. Where is it at compared to this?
The lower ramps at the Spillway are still in the water.. I'd say 8 lanes and two docks with docking on both sides. But with it dropping as fast as it is right now you have less than a week before that ramp will be 2 lanes and one dock. And then it goes to 2 lanes and that won't last more than 2 weeks max. The only ramp available real soon is gonna be at Bidwell and that is supposed to be extended to about 650 feet.. Plenty of water to boat on...if you can get on !!!

Bottomline.. the lake level on 8/01/08 was 704 and 8/01/09 it is 736.. The lowest point was 659 in Jan this year.. It would be my guess then that the new reamp poured at Bidwell may only be as low as 659 and more than likely closer to 675 -690.. At about 2' a day, we have a few weeks left before we run out of ramps and what is left is gonna be really crowded on weekends...

Folsom must be selling the water to L.A. to let so much flow out in a matter of two weeks.I would never buy a year pass there again!!!!!! I guess in a month we can go 4 wheeling in the puddles there :|err i say fire the person making the call to let so much out.feel sorry for people who keep there boats in the marina yearly they spend most the time on there trailers,,,
Went to Browns today
Note on the pay station wall said all boats out of Marina docks by 8-25-09
pathetic:)st
Dam repair?

Didn't they lower the lake to work on the dam?
Didn't they lower the lake to work on the dam?
No, haven't heard that. No work on the dam itself, but a new road and bridge was built.

SOUNDS LIKE THEY HAD TO SALE OFF A LITTLE MORE WATER TO OFF-SET THE COST'S:)st
I think So. Cal. just stole more of OUR water to fill the new pools and water the golf courses.
Just called Rollins Lake Today (Thursday August 6th) the guy said the water is only a couple feet down!

Maybe there is hope after all!
