The problem here is the word religion. The Gospel does not tell us to obey or follow a religion. Religion is man made and as long as that is the guiding authority and thinking, then that's all there will be. The Gospel tells us that, unlike the Old testament where man had no choice as to his relationship with God, because of Christ we do have a choice to have a one-on-onepersonal relationship with the Father, not a religion. The Gospel explains the what, Acts and the New Testament explains the how. Religion will never provide that.

I personally don't hate religion. Fact is, I love it. I converted as a teenager and my life has been progressively better as religion has taught me gospel principals, line upon line and precept upon precept. I've learned so many important concepts as religious instructors teach the words of Christ. I was fortunate to raise my six kids in an environment of religion where they were taught the words of Christ and associated with others with common beliefs. They continue to practice this religion today as they raise their families and another generation is on the way to gospel centered living. Now, I'm nowhere near perfect - far from it in fact, but I know where to look for truth and I understand the source of truth so I'm that far ahead. I'm 180* from where I was prior. I've also learned that my personal relationship with Deity is more important than my membership in a Church. I do NOT depend upon the Church to teach me but the Church taught me to study on my own and learn from life's experiences along the way. I read scripture daily and have for four decades - NOT to be better than another but to continue to learn His ways. Religion taught me the importance of doing this.

This entire disconnect between Muslims and Judeo/Christian believers roots deep in history. Start with Abraham, his handmaiden Hagar and his firstborn son Ishmael - then on to Saria and his chosen son Isaac and learn where this struggle began that lives on today. It will continue up to the second coming of Christ where His millennial reign begins.

Worst news of all is that any and all religions will have their extremists. Muslims don't have a franchise on this problem.

Christianity is a religion, as are others... Hindu and Judaism...

But islam is an ideology. The quran is a guide to live by. Don't live by its rule, and you will be smite on your neck until dead.

Pretty clear to me... And other Christians in the Middle East, don't ya think?

Taqiyya and Kitman. Beware... they are sly.
