im a heavy duty tow truck operator and when ever i have to go out of state to the east sucks until i get out of cali then its hammer down my 52000 lb tow truck is governed at 83 and use every bit of it outside of cali. then coming back suck azz big trucks should be able to do at least 65 along with POV's with trailers

Should let trucks out of the slow lane also. Just think how easy it would be to get on the freeway, with out trucks clogging the lane.

85 percent of trucks do the speed limit. they prob is people dont know how to get on the fwy they should be doing the speed limit by the end of the ramp. im not gonna move or slow down for you, your getting on my fwy im not getting on your on ramp i have the right of way. traffic would not be as bad if folks were not so worried about getting in front of a truck. a truck is prob going slow cause he got cut off by a little car that cut him off then slowed to 40 mph. a big truck takes a long time to recover from that type of slow down all the while backing up traffic behind him. truck drivers are aggressive cause they have to be not cause they want to be. when i flip my turn signal people see it then they speed up cause they dont want to be behind me. its BS and people think we can stop on a dime or speed up quickly. little cars have the power. step on the long skinny one on the right and make your car go and get out of my way. and use your blinkers if you signal ill let you in, and if dont signal im not going to read your mind im just gonna keep driving. i tired of truck drivers getting the short end of the stick. i drive a big rig tow truck and clear big accidents on the fwy and 90 percent of big truck accidents are caused by little cars with impatient drivers. rant over

Bingo. That is exactly why LA freeways are so terrible. Stupid people creeping along on the on ramp and expecting people to slow down to let them in. I will not break my speed for you. I won't speed up, nor will I slow down. If you run out of ramp, I guess you better stop or start eating the shoulder.......If I can move over to let you in, fine, I will. I always give the big trucks a break. Hold back to let them change lanes to pass slower trucks or assholes in cars that can't run the speed limit............Ray

Just another *** with a "no-load' opinion. As Moneypit so stated, "learn to drive or eat the dirt". I won't slow down or move over for some as*clown that get's on the freeway doing less than the speed of traffic. Do it right or die and I couldn't care less.

Damn straight. This is a major pet peeve of mine. people need to know how to merge and who has the right of way. It drives me fuggin nuts when a car is right even with me, blinker flashing expecting ME to make a move.:|err:|err

That said, to the OP, I highly doubt this is worthy of complaining to the governor about. Unless you've been living in a hole lately and not getting the news, there's way more important issues.

The person getting on has to yield to the fwy traffic.

I also HATE left lane drivers (on open hwy). If your not passing, GET THE EFF OVER!!!

As a person who logs thousands of freeway miles per month, across many different States, I can tell you that the 55 MPH in CA is a VERY unsafe practice.
It is strictly a cash cow to ding truckers with the big fines.
The 5 mile passes and jockeying to pass them is a disaster compared to other States.

Yep...at least adjust things...create some "speed corridors", etc.

I try and be as accommodating to anyone pulling a trailer, from 53ft to 5 ft. However in the past few years I have lost a lot of respect for truck drivers in particular the ones that travel 2 lane highways, ie. the 40, I understand how it takes a long time to regain momentum, but for those of you that are guilty of this, ANTICIPATE your move a tad bit earlier than when I am less than 20ft off your drivers side rearend. I also have a huge problem with the arrogant truck drivers that have the signs posted on the trailer doors explaining that their indicator is not a request, F U losers. I have every right to the road as you all do, and don't tell me how you keep America moving, so do I. Be respectful of your fellow drivers and I can assure you I will do the same.
