There is repair question here but first.

Hello all, first time here.

I am looking at a boat (Obviously)(23' Omega) from a few posts i've read not the most loved boat maker apparently.

I'm negotiating now for what i think is a fair price, anyway

On both sides from just under the top of the deck where it takes its first step down towards the sides of the boat from where the deck comes to a point, horizontally about a foot or two long from what seems like years and vibration.

I will post pictures tomorrow (too late to take them tonight). just wanted to get this on here to get your brains fired up.

The guy said he had some repairs made already, I will post more on that with the pictures.

The first 2 pictures are on the right side of the boat that is in the shade all day, the third one is on the left side that is in the sun all day. The last one is a picture of a fix he did to remedy the problem. The aluminum brackets with wood bolted from side to sides the deck can't flex.

I know anything can be fixed i'm just trying to pre plan more than anything, and obviously get and help I can.

Thank you in advance.

I think you are better off that the deal fell through. The cracked seam is bad. The other cracking looks like bondo or the wrong paint or both, all of it is bad.
Here is what l believe happens:
you go look at this boat, think wow l love it, needs some work but l can do that. If the price is right.
Here is where the problem lies:
Whats under the paint is anyones guess or what has been done there before is a crap shoot.
The optemistic perspective will take over because you love the boat and the price is a deal. In the long run you are money ahead to save a little longer and look for something that needs only tlc. You will be on the water having fun.
Projects suck, mine is 3 years old. Life gets in the way, and before you know it 3 years have gone by.
Just my .02
Good luck, and be safe. schick
