I have a boat that fits in the garage sideways. Jamming the whole garage up. Want to cut the tongue and add new coupler. Tubing on trailer is 4"x4". Cant find anything to fit. Closest 3"x3". Want to do it myself, but might be forced to take it to a welding shop. 4"x4" is this an odd size for a trailer tongue?

Not really sure. Can check later. I am to the point now of cutting and laying a modified straight coupler on top of tube and bolting.

I made my own "*******" detatching tongue. I don't think your going to find anything that fits perfect as is. I found some 3/8" wall thickness square tubing. But it was too loose so I ended up welding plates to the top and sides of the trailer, and then ended up with a grinder to make it fit nice and snug. Looks like shit but works tits. The tongue is a little hard to see it's in the background.

Ok. Yea I see it. Looks like something I might have to do. I am also have tempted to cut and stick and shim 3x3 into the 4x4 then add a coupler to the 3x3.
