Installing a B/W velvet drive in my 63 Biesemeyer. Already have a foot throttle so now I need a way to shift it in and out of gear. I'm sure someone here has done it. What you use?

a good ol' handle from eddie marine with lockout and ignition control should do the trick. Rex marine also has a good selection of shifters and accesories.

Yep, having that shifter up on the cowl side is so convenient. I ran that exact shifter on my Sanger flat, then loop the cable back and under the motor to a small clip bracket on the Velvet Drive. Here's a pic. Jocko

Hey thanks folks, I like those shifters and almost bought one the other day for next to nothing on ebay but stopped due to install issues. It would have to mounted in a bulkhead/bolster. As short as mine are it would stick up over the deck like a sore thumb. Thinking I need something more like a floor shifter of some sort?
