Since no one wants to try. This is a piston out of a 1919 Indy car motor, 4 cylinder 2 stroke. Originals were cast iron, making new ones out of Alum.

Interesting. I guess GN7 was only a teen that year. :p He hadn't started racing for a couple of more years.

That's some crazy shit. I was thinking 2 stroke due to the defector head on the small end. It was 2 different bore sizes that threw me. Then I thought maybe some sort of steam engine,

I guess they needed a different swept volume in the crankcase than the cylinder.
All those rings, all that drag, cast iron piston. They must have had one great 2 stroke oil in the days.:wink2: No wonder they smoked like they were abating mosquitos.
