ok i have a 76 kona 18 ft .. i looked up the hin on boathistoryreport.com

it came up as MAKAIRA BOATS INC in dana point CA.. tryed looking it up on http://www.uscgboating.org/ and cant find ne thing on there

here is the hin

MBK8J2170776-77 Im not sure on what the 77 stands for.. since the hin# are 12 characters long


let me know if ne one can help

That looks like a Kona Makai. The Makai was Kona's version of a bubble deck. They often came with a fiberglass swimm step that that also covered the jet pump bowl and nozel.



By the way if Your's does not have the swim step I think Outlaw,here on the boards, has the mold for them and can make You one.
The 72,73 had full length stringers in it,but I think the 76's had shorty stringers?
I am not an authority on the Kona's, but I have done alot of reasearch on the Kona boats ,when I was restoring Mine and saw alot of the Makai's.
