Always been a Chevy guy but I gotta tell you the Tundra run's circles around all of the Chevy's I've towed with...from a slammed 1/2 ton with a 5.7 Vortec to Big Block Crew Cab Duallies...and it isn't a "foreign" truck if everything, except the electronics (and who's better at electronics than the Japs), is built in Texas.

Ya but if you ever get a big trailer or a 5th wheel i am sure that tundra will do real good towing it too.
LOL.

I MYSELF WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER TOYOTA PRODUCT

77 charger, why would you try to tow a 5th wheel with a 1/2 ton Tundra? Or for that matter, a 1/2 ton chevy, ford, dodge, etc.

But 1/2 ton for 1/2 ton, the Tundra out tows hands down.

The thought of not owning an American truck blows, but I just got back from a test drive in the the Tundra Crew max and that is one tight ride and the dealer was great.

Let's see my truck had a major failure for the second time in 43K miles. The dealer could care less if they had my Biz and the parent company is bankrupt. Am I am going back to buy another one of their $30K product? :)st

But 1/2 ton for 1/2 ton, the Tundra out tows hands down.
Wouldnt try it.But its funny how some act like it could.

IMO 1/2 ton trucks are only good for hauling boxes i'd rather own a car.

You own 7 acres, you tow a 5,500 lb boat, trailer dirt bikes, camp, carry crap and like a decent ride and use it like a car the rest of the time = 1/2 ton.

Toyota seems to think you can tow a fifth wheel with it...
Tundra's rated to tow 10,800 lbs. so it's actually more of a 5/8 ton :D


TRD TUNDRA DOUBLE CAB OFF-ROAD CONCEPT AND TRAILER

The TRD Tundra Double Cab 4x4 Off-Road Concept starts with a 6.5-foot bed. It combines an extensive list of custom features designed to showcase new TRD products on a rugged heavy-duty off-road truck that can be used to pull a large car-hauler trailer.

The 5.7-liter V8 engine has been upgraded with the new TRD supercharger system that incorporates an air-to-liquid intercooler that boosts output to approximately 500 horsepower and is 50-state emission legal.

The truck uses TRD 17x8 forged off-road wheels with 37x12.50 R17/D BFG tires on special front and rear wide-track long-travel suspensions. The body has been aggressively restyled with new front and rear fascias and five-inch wider fender sides. A custom trailer hitch has been incorporated into the bed.

The 28-foot custom Featherlite car-hauler trailer was designed and built to resemble a working race car trailer, but is actually a traveling TRD product display featuring many new TRD products.

Inside the trailer, visitors can get a look at the internal workings of the latest TRD superchargers and limited-slip differentials, see the latest wheel offerings or view a video of the actual design and construction of the TRD Off-Road Concept Tundra.
