Is the Procharger's a turbo that they take the ex impeller off and put a gear drive ( I think about 3 x ) on then belt drive it ? what ratio do you run on the belt ? overall ratio of both ? could you convert a turbo off of a cummins or caterpiller ? just thinking ,,, I have access to a holset turbo,,

the last is how many size's of the procharger's do they make ? the centrifugal take's less Hp to turn(than root's) even with all the overdrive ?

The gear drive on a centrifugal blower is not able to get the compressor up to anywhere near the speed that a turbo spins so they use a much larger diameter compressor to get the flow.

I don't think it would be possible to make a turbo compressor work right with a gear drive.

Getting the belts tight enough to drive a big centrifugal blower is another problem. I would be inclined to go with a gear belt drive.

buy a set of headers from mark, bolt some 91mm turbs on it, blow that thru a c&s methanol carb and you'd have all the power you could stand, just as much as a 14-71 blown injected motor, but without all the tuning issues and only 1 carb to dick withdevil god i love blow thru stuff

That 14-71 isn't going to make the power that a couple 91 mm turbo's would.
The parasitic losses and lack of efficiency would eat up your HP.

Why is it that there are so many dyno pulls on Youtube with Turbos and Prochargers but so few with alky injected roots blown setups ?
The ones I found either didn't post the HP numbers or didn't MAKE an impressive HP number.

With all that noise and all that fuel you would think it SHOULD be making some impressive HP.

Mark's motor make's a lot more power than mine,( just me and electronic's dont mix very well ) ,LOL ,, and I sure am interested in what you are doing Impatient 1 , ,that small block should spit out some good # too ,,

PS: would you need to run a aftercooler with methanol , or just put a meth nozzle in after the turbo ? would that piss off the blowthrough carb ?

no ic on methanol
set of unchained headers:1700
set of 75mm/80mm turbs: 600 for 75's, 800 for 80's
c&s methanol blow thru carb: 1800.00
pair of 60mm gates:160.00
couple 50mm blow offs:100.00
bonnet: 150bucks used

then just give it a big nuff fuel system to support that and you'd be knocking on 2500+hp pretty damn easily with the 80's, bout 2200+ with the 75's

go on yellowbullet and read up on bill lutz's methanol blow thru camaro, he made hugeeeeeee hp/tq with his methanol set-up.that carb of his is for sale also, think the guy was askin 1700 for it, bill made well over 2400 with it.

if ya don't like wires like mark here's the only carb imho that's worthy and will do huge hp/tq numbers without even having to rejet it outta the boxdevil just watch your wideband while the motor idles, adjust mixture screws till the a/f ratio is perfect at idle and leave it the hell alone from there my uncle's c&s 900cfm blow thru carb works awesome, a/f ratio is always niceeeee

if you're shooting for below 1000hp/tq, the quickfuel carb is the best deal goin, they make 750-850cfm blow thru carbs.i'm running a 750 qft carb on my lil sbc blow thru motor.

Yeah that is some cool stuff,,, my blown alky hydro make's aprox 1300-1400 hp , would run in the aprox low 7's ,, been radared at the lake at 148 mph , with 2500 hp -----175 190 mph ????? I think the real problem would be in my undie's,, LOL ,, Have a good day my friend............Eric
