I read this article yesterday. I didn't know he was sentenced already. After reading it again, there's no way he's been sentenced yet. He won't get any jail time IMO, just probation.

Tried to plea bargain for a year in prison and was turned down. Testified before a grand jury yesterday, facts are facts, not much he could say except sorry, the law is clear in New York ... manditory 3.5 to 15 years on this weapons charge.

It is a BFD in NYC, they have a mandatory sentence of 3 years, but he pled down to attempted illegal weapon possession and got 20 months. Not including time served! He had a CCW from Florida, but NYC does not reciprocate with other states and besides the Florida permit was at least a year expired. It was an illegal gun, plain and simple.

What kind of dumb ass wears sweat pants to a night club? And what kind of even dumber ass puts a cocked and loaded Glock in the waistband of those sweat pants? He's damn luck that the only person that got shot was his own self and not another patron or employee. I am thinking that it started to slip and he grabbed for it hitting the trigger since none of my Glocks will fire when dropped. Hell, John Browning solved that little problem about 100 years ago.....

So you buy into the idea that we need a permit to carry a gun? I don't think I would feel real comfortable in a NY club without a gun. Here's my point, I don't believe the Constitution address when and where you can have a gun. That's our politicians at work slowly eroding our rights until we have none.
