If "beefy" or "curvy" describes you, here is a word of warning: United Airlines will begin aggressively enforcing a new policy that allows it to charge heavier passengers twice to fly.

WBBM Newsradio 780 has learned that Chicago-based United has instructed its customer service representatives at O'Hare International Airport ticket counters and gates to be extra vigilant beginning Wednesday for passengers they deem to be overweight.

I have to fly quite a bit for my job. Let me tell you, it's not any fun sitting in coach next to somebody who is severly obese for 3-4 hours. Why the F do I have to share part of my seat with these people that gorge themselves and never exercise? If they are to big to sit in a coach seat, they should either have to buy 2 coach seats or 1 First Class seat.

I think hes referring to the rising costs associated with smoking related illness, cancer, emphysema, cardiovascular issues of all kinds. Even the added cost with viagra due to smokers having issues with ED

lol, they need a size O meter deal for people just like the carry on bags. If yo azz don't fit here you pay double. It should all be based on ass width and not weight too. Because what about that chick that's only 4'8"? She might only weigh 205 but has an ass the size of New Jersey. At least a seat and a half. (I know I know, they need lovin too)

Smoking is a choice. Skin color and most other demographics aren't, sexual orientation is arguable.

This is a bit of a stretch but, Should you pay higher auto premiums than me because I don't drink therefore am less likely to be involved in an alcohol related accident? I understand exactly what your saying but it is also a profiling issue...

"smoker" is NOT a protected class so there is No discrimination issue and not really a profiling issue.

We are actually looking into charging different (higher) premiums to the smokers in my company. We are waiting to hear back from the insurance companies. Rate structures based on smoking and not smoking are new to them so they don't have standard programs for it yet is what we have found.

Obesity is causing more health related problems and deaths than smoking right now. But either way I have to agree, if you are above a certain weight and size and can't fit in the seat, you should pay more.

Drinking has nothing to do with it, getting behind the wheel while intoxicated does.
