The health law requires large employers to cover employees and dependent children, but not spouses or domestic partners.

It's in the bill don't blame UPS blame the people who didn't read the bill before they voted for it.

United Parcel Service Inc. plans to remove thousands of spouses from its medical plan because they are eligible for coverage elsewhere. The Atlanta-based logistics company points to the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, as a big reason for the decision, reports Kaiser Health News.
The decision comes as many analysts are downplaying the Affordable Care Act's effect on companies such as UPS, noting that the move reflects a long-term trend of shrinking corporate medical benefits, Kaiser Health News reports. But UPS repeatedly cites Obamacare to explain the decision, adding fuel to the debate over whether it erodes traditional employer coverage, Kaiser says.
Rising medical costs, “combined with the costs associated with the Affordable Care Act, have made it increasingly difficult to continue providing the same level of health care benefits to our employees at an affordable cost,” UPS said in a memo to employees.
According to Kaiser, UPS told white-collar workers two months ago that 15,000 working spouses eligible for coverage by their own employers would be excluded from the UPS plan in 2014.
UPS expects the move, which applies to non-union U.S. workers only, to save about $60 million a year, company spokesman Andy McGowan said.
The health law requires large employers to cover employees and dependent children, but not spouses or domestic partners, Kaiser adds.
Kaiser said the Obama administration would not respond directly to UPS' statements, but said that employer coverage increased when Massachusetts implemented its own version of the health overhaul.
"The health care law will make health insurance more affordable, strengthen small businesses and make it easier for employers to provide coverage to their workers," said Joanne Peters, spokeswoman for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Now just wait a minute here. Prior to it's passage, the president personally promised that employers would save as much as 3000% on their health-care costs under KenyanKare. Shue, 1986, cvx, Rod, can you guys dispute this rumor?

Probably not since it plays all the time on youtube . . . You guys are looking less intelligent every day he serves.

Could you liberal genius' that voted for this fraud please calculate how much savings that would be if I paid $400. per month on my employee's healthcare?
Didn't think you would be any better at math than he is. :)hand:)hand:)hand

Can we start referring to this guy as the President of the USA Corporation. Considering that they now control 1/6th of the economy through Obamacare, an additional percent through manufacturing such as Chevy, more via Banking such as student loan debt, housing debt via Freddie Mac, even more through Bond sales on our debt, even more on future Pension fund management with dissolution of 401K's etc etc etc with 2.7 million employees in tow.

It would appear that when socialist liberals refer to greedy corporations they are in fact talking about the US Government, I just wish they would buy a brewery and force me to buy more of that.

I have a friend that works in the health industry, as does his wife. He says he has lost his co-pay and his deductible is now $2500 per year.

Being self employed and having only hospitalization insurance, I have no idea what is going to happen in my little corner of the world....

I showed this to Deb yesterday (She is a licensed broker in CA).
She laughed at the fact that anyone is surprised by this.
And you will notice that it ONLY applies to non union "white collar" positions.

Here is what you can expect forkin.

Whatever you are paying now, allow 50% more in your budget for premiums next year.
We are paying a cool grand a month right now for Deb and I, Blue shield, $4k EACH annual deductible.
Start examining the different levels available in Ocare to see which level of an ass fucking will be least painful.
The end goal is and always has been the elimination of private coverage after all and that WILL be obtained.

Well, at least for you and I. We are the ones who will pay and pay some more. If you think it is ugly now, just wait for a year and see what happens.
THIS, above all else, could actually trigger a civil war.
Of course, that is also a goal for the administration.

Its no secret that any global conspiracy theories all come back to one number, and that is a manageable population.

I have a UPS Daily account and their rates have skyrocketed in the last 5 years but I also understand why since UPS is sending the same drivers and they are going on the same routes with a half full truck because of the economy in my opinion
I remember being a shipping clerk in the late 70's...1lb to zone 1 (local) $.65...now it's about 15-20 times that...also a reference is the "quarter" car wash which was a quarter is now only 10 x that...same as gas.

I was talking to a O'riellys Auto Parts guy the other day...he informed me that they have cut most employees to 30 hour part time help...no health care now

Only a democrat could be so blind as to not see this is all a direct result of KenyanKare. Corporations across the nation are facing dilemmas such as cutting to part time employees to cut health care altogether or cutting back on what is already being provided as a result of this disastrous legislation. Here we see how it's impacted Delta Airlines:
Delta warns Obamacare will cost it $100 million in 2014 - Atlanta Business Chronicle

Without tort reform, there will never be affordable health care.
