vertex mag
i have a vertex mag for a standard deck chevy with new cap rotor and taylor wires in my motor now and would like to sell it. hows 400 sound? or will trade for an msd set up.

by single wire do you mean the one that goes from the mag into the cap. if so yes. and its locked out as it was in a blower motor.
yes it is now that i know what you ment. one ground wire.

an msd set up would be nice. i need somthing with a rev limiter
you can install a rev limiter box w/ a mag. I have one that worked great, before I crashed and sank the boat, may still work. I beleive msd makes it. I'll go into my parts and check.an msd set up would be nice. i need somthing with a rev limiter

Magneto High-Range Rev Limiter with RPM Switch
The ETC Inc. High-Range Rev Limiter with RPM Switch was designed to be used exclusively by Nostalgia Racers, giving them engine protection as a high-RPM rev limiter and also an RPM Switch for use with a shift light.
This unit is a unique control device that has been designed to work with all Mallory Magnetos. Models are also available for the Vertex standard internal coil and external coil magnetos. Other types of ignition are available on request.
Adjustable RPM limiting is provided by an adjustable push wheel switch which selects the RPM in increments of 100 from 2,000 to 9,900 RPM causing a switch point when the RPM exceeds the set point.

I was under the understanding that a mag rev limiter in a blown setup shut the engine down and needed to be reset . if this is wrong i'll keep it and buy the limiter.
