Do most of you guys stick to further up the Delta, or do you ever make it down closer to the Bay? I keep my boat in Alameda and so far haven't ventured out of the Bay and into the Delta, but I'd like to, especially with the not so awesome weather we get down here June-August.

Any recommendations of good spots to hit up closer to my neck of the woods?

Thanks!

Welcome to the jungle! Most of the dlb runs east of Antioch. I try to stir up a bay run for Fleet Week, but I don't get many takers. We do Shasta 1 or 2 times a year.
Mostly 28' and smaller boats so the "upper Delta" seems to be good. Whatta ya got and do you have a trailer? NP

clic on the link and you can get an idea of where we run > Home - steveshots

You can count on me being out for Fleet Week!

It's a 2003 Sleekcraft Heritage 30. I got it in Discovery Bay, so some of you have probably seen it around (blue and yellow graphics on white)

I've got a trailer... but no truck, so I'm limited to places I can reach by water for now.

I'll try to make it further up the Delta at some point, but it will have to be a multi-day trip to be worth the gas. I'll take suggestions for overnight anchorages/marinas too.

Delta info

Go to deltaboating.com, they have a ton of info.
Also hit delatmaps.com and get a chart of the area, it has all the contact numbers, etc.
I run out of Stockton, but have been from the Gate, to up past Sacramento, and "lost" everywhere in between:)
Great system of waterways!!

If you have an adventurous spirit, ga$, and a few days...

Buy a Delta map and go!

There are unlimited places you can drop anchor for a night and so many quaint marinas to explore.

My advice in your situation... get your boat birthed close enough to the Delta to explore regularly, yet not too far from your home...

If you love adventure, you wont regret it!

Welcome to the dlb! Hope to see you out there.

And... Don't forget to ask about Hookie Day!
