i can not get the prop on. how much do you think it will cost me??

Your lucky it's just your shaft...

That's what happens when you re-enter the water under power.

I'd bet at least $500.

Propshaft, load ring, tab washer, seals, gear lube, etc. will be around $700.00. Gear housing needs to be removed to set rolling torque. Plan on somewhere around $900 to $1000. The vertical driveshaft in the gear housing stands a small chance to have the splines twisted also.....
