I've had the best luck with the Clay Smith mechanical pump. They support over 1K hp, are pre-set at 7.5 psi eliminating the need for a FLOW RESTRCTIVE regulator. Regarding the same style Holley (billet $270) mechanical pump......sounds like you other guys have had better luck. I bought one a few years back mainly due to them advertising the same pre-set 7.5 psi pressure. Sent back 3 times due to 12-24 psi. Finally gave up and bought the Clay Smith pump. Jocko
I thought the Clay Smith pump required a regulator, that's what I use on my blown deal with a bypass style regulator.
